 :nono:
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

The Silver State. 1894.

A young Earth creationist, eh?

A bit of a stretch, that description, for a bloke in his 50's... :tea:

Nice guy, I'm sure he makes the shade of paisley proud.

and I don't get YECs. How could Imaginary Friend in the Sky make all those things in less than a week, when it takes a woman all of 9 months to just make one baby? and she needs help to get one started to boot.

Oh Svarty. Why try and rationalise the irrational? Will you never learn? :)

YECCIES can never keep quiet about their beliefs and these days bible thumping does not impress many.

You mean he's really going to make even the lowbrow treat DUP members like they were lepers?

The trouble is for the DUP these gits cant speak a sentence without including something referring to the creation. The record is getting a wee bit thin thanks to the number of times it has been played and people are getting fed up and want change.

Poots exemplifies the very worst in politics - someone who conforms unbendingly to the dictates of an ideology without reference to things like facts and evidence: "Believing in X is far more important than if X is true, or relevant, or harmful, or dangerous." Faith-based politics is scarry in any and every context.

Luckily the never seam to achieve any great numbers and when they do it tends to disintegrate very easily. We have such a party here. They notch up 1-2% in elections which is good for two seats but it never increases.

The DUP hold the most seats in the NI parliament and Poots is probably going to be the First Minister of the NI govt.

Is fundamentalist Protestant Christianity a foundation stone of the DUP?
