So what you're saying is that Trump's closer to Obama than Clinton, yeah, I can see that...

In some ways, yes, and in some ways, no. Clinton is a neocon war hawk and a darling of Wall Street. Clinton is conservative enough that establishment Republicans were fine with voting for her -- like George HW Bush, Colin Powell, Henry Paulson, John Negroponte, Richard Armitage -- and those that openly opposed him, if not committing to vote for Hillary -- like John Kasich and other establishment Republicans.

They were fine with her, as is Goldman Sachs, silicon valley, Wall Street, and the long list of wealthy, powerful and influential.

Maybe they're all voting against their interests....

Those who voted for Trump thinking he'd get them jobs (or higher wages if working) are not very likely to see such promises met to any significant degree...

The jobs he wants to bring back are low level paid ones.

The US should get rid of its shitty election system which now means that their government is controlled by the party that got the fewer total number of votes during the election. (Goes for both trump and the two chambers of parliament)

They aren't actually. If industry succeeds in the US, the panoply of jobs are low, middle and high paying.

It's not really the most beneficial to focus on the pay scale anyway. What we need are productive occupations and trades. A burger flipper is a respectable job, but it's not the same as a CNC machine operator.

A source within the Clinton camp reports that Hillary had her concession speech prepared, but when the time came she was “unable” to read it out loud.

The devastated Democratic candidate remained locked in her New York hotel room “drinking a bit heavily” as she watched her dreams of the White House slip away. By the time she needed to speak publicly, she was “visibly impaired”

So what? She went through a lot.

There's a winner and a loser every four years. But, yeah....Hillary was probably "most affected..."

Now that I think about it, too bad Hillary wasn't elected. We could have cut the Presidential salary.

For die-hard Democrats holding out hope that they won’t have to live through a Trump presidency, there is a last, incredibly long shot for them latch on to — a surprise twist in the Electoral College.

Though Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 200,000, Trump has won the minimum of 270 electoral votes necessary to be elected president. As of late Wednesday, he had 290 to Clinton’s 228.

According to the Constitution, chosen electors of the Electoral College are the real people who will vote for president, when they meet on Dec. 19 in their respective state capitals.

However, there is technically nothing stopping any of the electors from voting their conscience and refusing to support the candidate to whom they were bound, or from abstaining from voting altogether.

There’s even a name for it: becoming a “faithless elector.”

Trump is going to end up with 306 electoral college electors, it would take I think 19 defectors. Not gonna happen
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

That's politics folks. In a electoral system that's become litle more than an ongoing reality-tv show the high-branded reality-tv star has the upper hand. People didn't like Clinton - she just didn't seem very real, nor did she seem very nice. But her brand was already dammaged before she even started.

See. You're already thinking of a better brand with greater levels of consumer capital.

America has a stupid system. So-called checks and balances are a recipe for inaction and any loony having a chance of winning the white house.

We've had the inaction, now we have the loony.

And a loony elected by less votes than his opponent. It's a nasty situation, where one half of the country now hates the other half.

Isn't it funny, that Russia is in a better place, democratically?
It has a popular government and leadership that has the power to do stuff.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
