It's a pity that distinguishing between dying by suffocation via the Coronavirus and dying due to other causes is a subjective matter. If it were not, our governments would tell us the exact numbers about that too.

Funny. When I referred to number of vaccinated people on the same dashboard, it wasn't good enough.

Well good-bye masks. Almost all restrictions have been lifted. Most areas of the country have reached the 85% vaccination mark for at least one jab.

Officially of all Australians almost 30% are not prepared to have the jab? Quite amazing as here almost 95% are willing to have it. The exceptions are religious nutters and muslims (well they are religious nutters).

Back in June you claimed 85% vaccination rate, but according to the dashboard, the vaccination rate is only at 71% even now 7 weeks later.

I don't know why they might refuse, with Trump singing the praises of vaccines so firmly.

But I do think they should have the right to not take it.

Does the government get to force you down any other 'public health' paths? I hear a lot of folks refuse to improve their cardio. Lots of fatties end up in hospital, compared to healthier groups...

There's lots of government activities to try to enforce or encourage healthier living. For example, there are taxes on alcohol, tobacco. There's taxes on sugary products in more and more places. There's mandatory physical education in school. There's discounts on public healthcare fees for people that can show they do physical activity regularly. There are seat-belt mandates. There are mandates to have smoke detectors in private apartments. There are helmet mandates for motor-bikes. ...

Right, but with obesity having the effect it does, anyone who hasn't done something about it, is simply not taking the worst effects of the virus seriously.

By 'anyone', public health is the main culprit.

If people can choose to be obese, then they can choose to be unvaccinated. I do believe in personal liberty, but in a socialized medicine kind of country, it shocks me how many people can ignore one, while shrieking about the other.

Obesity is easily and clearly fixable. Some folks really can't get vaccinated.
