Trump "stands up" for American worker on Labor Day.
Response:
I expect that the only times Trump has ever stood up for an American worker was when one of them was sliding his chair back for him after he finished dinner.

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
Trump stands up to American workers whenever he has a chance. When they request payment on completed contracts, he stands up to them and tells them he's not going to let himself be cheated by them. He stands up to their unsatisfactory work and insists he will not pay the bill as it stands. He (through his lawyers) stands up to them in court, if they persist in annoying him. He's a real stand up guy.

The guy's got zero credibility, and good reasons to lie.Tero wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 4:07 pm948826F9-377E-46F2-9BC2-9833F4B282F9.jpeg
I've read some books on the 2016 elections, dark money, Republican tricks. I have yet to read a Trump centered book. But I might make an exception here. I was going to wait till after election. But since "after" will drag on for weeks...

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
None of the books about Trump by people such as Michael Cohen or John Bolton who worked for him and are now disaffected are of interest to me for two reasons. Firstly, they are unlikely to provide substantiation that cannot be found elsewhere (if substantiation can be found at all) and secondly, none of the allegations can possibly make me think worse of him than I already do.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:15 amThe guy's got zero credibility, and good reasons to lie.

Trump is about show, entertainment! Cohen book is a continuation of the Trump show. But not a penny of the income goes to Trump so I'm safe here. And since the show is over in November, there is no point in reading this type of book after that.

I worked for mostly 2 companies, but with mergers and all, there were a lot of CEO. The alpha male character was similar to Trump, but most were a bit smarter. But not Dennis, he was my CEO for a year or two. He was a Trump:

I will find a lot of familiar things in the Cohen book.

Same here. I did read Bob Woodword's Fear: Trump in the White House, and found some of the parts the media didn't cover to be quite interesting, especially related to the negotiations with Mueller and his team.Hermit wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:17 amNone of the books about Trump by people such as Michael Cohen or John Bolton who worked for him and are now disaffected are of interest to me for two reasons. Woodward's latest is Rage, which comes out in a week. I'll wait to see some reviews before deciding if I want to read it.

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
Those books I can find cheap used after the election. They will be history. Trump can then, after his legal troubles, be sent to mar-a-lago with ankle monitor. Nobody will read anything on him past 2022.
Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
These books give me credible information to sow doubt among my Republican friends who need a little encouragement to not vote for Trump this time. The episode where Trump's aides talked him out of ordering US military families home from South Korea really got their attention. Some of them had been stationed in South Korea and recognized what a rash and poorly considered decision that was.
I hope you're right about Trump's future, but I want to do my part to make it happen. After the election is too late.

What kind of Trump supporters listen to unflattering facts? They aren't in my family.

Yar, I'm also not keen on being lied to without the means to verify. I can just listen to comedians take down Trump if I want a laugh without caring about the truth.Hermit wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:17 amNone of the books about Trump by people such as Michael Cohen or John Bolton who worked for him and are now disaffected are of interest to me for two reasons. Straight ticket Republican voters. There are a lot of them who voted for Trump simply because he was the GOP nominee. I live in a GOP stronghold that went for Trump big in 2016, but the primary went to Ted Cruz.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:33 pmWhat kind of Trump supporters listen to unflattering facts? I don't expect my friends to Vote for Biden, but last time the Libertarian candidate got over 6% of the vote. I'm hoping that improves.
