It's like they've taken a few troublesome aspects of immigration policy and its application and used those difficulties to present an unrealistic picture of immigration in general.

How else can you believe ethnic cleansing is occurring with growth like that, with ~1/2 yearly population growth due to immigration, with more Americans than ever abandoning racism, yadda, yadda.

It's a warped view.

What colour/race are those immigrants? Using Australia as an example the bulk of skilled immigration to our country is European/UK and US.

Those figures include illegal immigrants too. Those will be mostly Mexico and South America. I believe the legal is comprised of a similar makeup including the Asian countries i.e. more than half won't be white.*

*depends on who defines white...Arabs for example have traditionally been asked to identify as white.

No definition of ethnic cleansing that I am aware of requires that the cleansing must be complete in order to qualify as ethnic cleansing. Admittedly, there is no legal definition of ethnic cleansing that I know of, so the definitions that we have to work with are going to be a bit fuzzy, and Trump's attempts to expel as many non-whites as possible have failed on many fronts, which is why I chose to call Trump an attempted ethnic cleanser.

And again, it is possible for racist policies to be implemented by a racist government even as racial diversity is on the rise. The two aren't mutually incompatible. In fact, it is quite clear that the rise in white nationalist activity, the rise of the alt-right, and the rise of Trumpism are all to some extent white, Christian, conservative America's reaction to increasing ethnic diversity, as well as the election of America's first black president. I'm sure 9/11 and Iraq/Afghanistan don't help.

While the world continues to grapple with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump announced on April 20 that he would sign an executive order to suspend immigration to the United States.

During the ban, nearly all parents and adult children of U.S. citizens, spouses, and children of green card holders, and applicants for most employment-based visas will not be able to obtain visas to immigrate to the U.S. The ban also temporarily shuts down the Diversity Visa Program, a frequent target of the Trump administration.

More details on how the order will be implemented continue to emerge. What’s clear is that the administration is exploiting this public health emergency to advance its racist, anti-immigrant policy agenda.

It's important to note that prior to the announcement, the administration had already largely cut off immigration to the United States as part of its pandemic response. U.S. Citizenship and Information Services (USCIS), which is charged with processing applications for immigration, naturalization, and citizenship,is already closed; refugee resettlement has been on hold; and citizenship ceremonies have been postponed till further notice.

What's more, this executive order follows a series of attacks on legal immigration since the start of this administration, which include imposing a travel ban from African and Muslim majority countries as well as making it nearly impossible for people to seek asylum in the U.S. The Trump administration has repeatedly bypassed Congress’s lawmaking authority and used its executive powers to rewrite immigration policy–with little or no pushback from Congress itself.

By keeping more people out, deporting people who are here, and creating an atmosphere of nativism and fear that affects everybody, Trump is dramatically reducing immigration to the United States, particularly for people of color. Together, these policies support a white nationalist agenda—one that most people in the U.S. don’t support. The majority of the public thinks that immigration is a good thing and should not be decreased. That’s why it’s important to understand and oppose the changes underway.

Germany:

Travellers without a valid reason for traveling are not allowed to enter Germany

Immigration offices in several cities have reopened with limited services (mainly for
emergencies only) and on an appointment basis.
• Services at the alien offices in Berlin are unavailable without an appointment.
Immigration offices in other cities are closed, or offering only limited or emergency
services.

France:

Effective 17 March, labour offices are closed to the public.
• Effective 17 March until further notice, the issuance of all visas is suspended,
including applications for which an appointment has already been made.
• Effective 17 March, prefectural offices are being closed until further notice, and all
appointments postponed.

Italy:

• COVID-19 restrictions are extended until 3 May. Public offices throughout Italy have
closed to the public. Employers and assignees in Italy should be prepared for delays
in the processing of immigration and work authorisation applications.
• All applications pending as of 23 February or submitted since 23 February will not be
processed until after 15 April.

Sweeden:

Suspension of entry is extended until 15 May for all except Swedish citizens, EU
nationals, and Swedish residence permit (including long term residence permit
holders and work permit holders) and their dependent family members as long as
they are returning home. Therefore it is recommended that holders of newly issued
work permits delay their travel until after 16 May.

Netherregions:

Effective until further notice, the Dutch Immigration Services (IND) is only allowing
appointments for collection of first regular residence document, and only if the
employee has travelled to Netherlands with a Provisional Residence Permit (MVV)
and requires a residence document for example to apply for health insurance or
register in the Personal Records Database (BRP) of their town hall. These
appointments must be made by phone. All appointments that were scheduled up to
and including 19 May are cancelled.
