You joking? because the Chinese are some of the most racial centric people on earth, either you're a Han, or you're not even human, and the Japanese have a racial superiority complex that matches that of Nazi Germany.

Ask the Koreans even in present day Japanese society they tend to be second class citizens.

Re: Tram Shooting in Utrecht, Netherlands?
The Chinse (in my direct experience having lived with them for 20 years or so) are racist in a strange and almost inoffensive way. In Cantonese, their word for being Chinese translates as 'people'. The phrase for foreigners translates as 'foreign devil' (perhaps updated now?). They even have a school of thought, taken quite seriously in China, if nowhere else, that the Chinese evolved separately from homo sapiens and go much further back.
Their sense of superiority is embedded into their psyche in a way that is nothing like the xenophobic 'fear of the other' that the ultra-right elsewhere display.
In Hong Kong, given it was a British colony and technically the locals were 'subjects' I guess it required some agile mental gymnastics.
The Chinese are of course above all else pragmatic.

I mean, Korea and China each have a national myth explaining how THEY, as opposed to any other people, discovered all the basics of civilisation, like tea, silk, paper etc, Japan would compete too, except there's enough evidence to prove they got all that from China and Korea during the Nara and Heian periods, so they just claim to have brought all these arts to a summit of perfection only they attained.

Yeah, the innate sense of racial superiority of the Chinese, how they quietly KNOW they are better than the other ground apes is frightening at times, maybe because it's not so much aggressive, until it has gathered enough momentum to steamroller everything in front of the Chinese.Rum wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 12:41 pmThe Chinse (in my direct experience having lived with them for 20 years or so) are racist in a strange and almost inoffensive way. It's all the more surprising and frightening that it has endured in spite of the time Chinese spent being ruled by Mongols (Yuan dynasty) and Manchus (Qing dynasty)

I call it quiet inertia. The Dutch have it to a certain extent as well which is why they were great merchants.

If by always you mean, "never," sure. I never engage in white, male, identity politics. You can find zero examples of me doing that.Seabass wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 1:53 amForty Two wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 1:39 amThat isn't my gut reaction.
I did express sympathy - which you ignored, and pretended I did not express.
I never claimed anyone was a victim, much less of an article. What are you on about?
I don't engage in your identity politics. You're the one who refuses to consider people as individuals. You just want to say white man bad, when you're not saying "orange man bad."You're the one that's always engaging in white, male identity politics. It's what you do. It's all you do.
I never say white man bad. In fact I have on several occasions defended white man. It's conservatives like you that I don't like.
You don't know what a conservative is, if you think I'm one. But, more power to you, honey bunch. I suppose to a leftist, progressive sjw-type like yourself, everyone who isn't in that ludicrous grouping of insipid, fatuous dunderheads sees almost everyone, including liberals, as "conservative."

Dude, you're like a parody of American conservatism. You're like Stephen Colbert's old character, but even more ludicrous and over-the-top. If Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity had a baby, that baby would grow up to be you.Forty Two wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:00 pmIf by always you mean, "never," sure. LOL - oh, I can see you really know you're stuff. Because you've sure got me as a conservative - as we know, in your mind, American conservatives tend to be atheists, pro-choice, anti-death penalty, pro-drug legalization, pro-rights of the accused in criminal trials, against unreasonable searches/seizures, in favor of reasonable regulations on firearms, against racism, in favor of civil rights laws, in favor of same sex marriage.... those are sure some "conservative" positions, aren't they?
You're a silly person.

The best thing to do would be to take the most radical in the party who would cheer and enjoy it, and have the more moderate conservatives watch them watching the video. Hopefully they would refuse to breathe to same air as them afterward.Animavore wrote:I think Trump supporters should be made watch the video of the New Zealand shooting, like Eisenhower marching Germans through the concentration camps to witness the horrors, so they can see the results of their hate speech.
Problem is they'd probably cheer and enjoy it.
