Many people do. Some surveys say that more than 50% of the US think of them as living human beings and are opposed to at-will convenience abortion.

That's probably the same 50% who believe in a government-alien conspiracy and the same 50% who believe Obama is a muslim terrorist. Who gives a fuck what a bunch of uneducated hillbillies think?

Let us assume, arguendo, that this is true, and that 50%+1 people vote to ban abortion. Would you accept this democratic decision and will of the collective? If not, why not, specifically?

Well, I guess if it didn't break any laws of the constitution, then I would accept that that is the will of the people. And you'd probably soon find that your country would empty of intelligent women. And I'd encourage them to leave and come to a more civilised country.
