I don't think they will. But then neither did the UK government 'reach out' to YouTube. YouTube demonetized Brand for their own reasons: They thought it might hurt their bottom line to be associated with paying him now that serious accusations regarding his shitty behavior are getting some public attention.

Rumble on the other hand did get a letter from the chair of a committee of the UK Parliament. She didn't instruct Rumble to demonetize Brand, nor even ask them to do so. She asked if they intended to demonetize Brand's videos. The CEO of Rumble was happy to proclaim that he would not bow to the pressure.

That in itself was sufficient, you didn't need to embroider the facts. In my opinion it wasn't kosher for Dame Dinenage to put pressure on Rumble.

As for a double standard, we shall see when 'a woman of colour' is accused of the sort of behavior that Brand is accused of.

It is quite possible that there will not be enough clear-cut evidence to allow formal charges, but from everything that has emerged so far, Brand was an arsehole of the first degree, and that the BBC turned a blind eye to his poor behaviour.

I don't think so, as my post indicates. Following proper usage though, I believe I should have written 'Dame Caroline' rather than 'Dame Dinenage.' She didn't outright ask Rumble to demonetize the sleazeball but the language wasn't particularly subtle, and she's in some hot water over it. Rightly, in my opinion.

I don't know the 'celebrity', but according to civilized laws, he IS innocent.

Of course, the media trial holds to different rules. Brand is already guilty in the media. Lizzo is pretty innocent. This guy might be innocent or guilty according to the media, and lots of people will go along with media rulings.

But others remember who is on 'team corporate media' and bear that in mind while following the dramas.
