RFK Jr on measles: "The MMR vaccine contains a lot of aborted fetus debris."

Google AI
Some vaccines, such as those for measles, mumps, and rubella, were historically produced using cell lines derived from aborted human fetuses. However, these cell lines are no longer used in the production of most vaccines, including flu vaccines.
Modern flu vaccines are typically produced using either egg-based or cell-culture methods, and neither of these methods involve the use of fetal cells.

Trump cabinet secretaries are what they are. Some are clever at dismantling stuff that goes to "foreigners." But RFK Jr is unique. Only he can bring back discredited things like miasma theory.
If you want to know why RFK Jr. believes so many weird things, just read his book, The Real Anthony Fauci. Four pages explain everything.
RFK Jr. believes many weird things about the causes, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. These false beliefs might seem disparate and unrelated, but they’re not. They’re all rooted in a single belief described on pages 285-288 of his book, The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health . In short, RFK Jr. doesn’t believe in the germ theory. He believes in something called the miasma theory.

The miasma theory is a long-abandoned medical theory that holds that diseases are caused by poisonous vapors (i.e., miasmata) that are generated by rotting organic matter, such as trash sitting out on the street. According to the miasmists, diseases aren’t passed from one person to another; rather, they are the product of poor hygiene and sanitation.

Nonetheless, in a section in his book titled “Miasma vs. Germ Theory,” RFK Jr. continues to embrace the miasma theory, writing the following statements:

“The ubiquity of pasteurization and vaccinations are only two of the many indicators of the dominating ascendancy of germ theory as the cornerstone of contemporary public health policy. A $1 trillion pharmaceutical industry pushing patented pills, powders, pricks, potions, and poisons and the powerful professions of virology and vaccinology …The miasmist approach to public health is to boost individual immune responses .” If you want to avoid infection, according to RFK Jr., all you need to do is maintain a healthy immune system. This explains why he has said that no vaccine is beneficial, that the polio vaccine killed more people than it saved, that young parents shouldn’t vaccinate their children, that HIV does not cause AIDS, that HIV is not spread from one person to another, and that the anti-AIDS drug AZT was an example of “mass murder”. It also explains why he drinks raw, unpasteurized milk.

“Anthony Fauci [said that] vaccines have already saved millions and millions of lives. Most Americans accept the claim as dogma. It will therefore come as a surprise to learn that it is simply untrue .” This explains why RFK Jr. has claimed that improvements in sanitation, as promoted by miasmists, not vaccines, have accounted for a decrease in infections. [snip]

“Imperialist ideologues find natural affinity with the germ theory .” This explains why he has said that scientists who promote vaccines, like Anthony Fauci, should be put in jail.

This is not a man who should be leading the largest public health agency in the United States.

Back in the early 19th century, the miasma theory was used to explain malaria. I've read accounts from then that said that a good guide to whether the miasmas were active and dangerous was the arrival of mosquitos... :D

Speaking of that shining light of contemporary American politics, she's seeking justice (or something) for Derek Chauvin.

'MTG Joins MAGA Push to Have George Floyd’s Killer Pardoned'
Marjorie Taylor Greene has joined calls for President Donald Trump to pardon Derek Chauvin, the ex-Minneapolis cop convicted in the 2020 murder of George Floyd.

She claimed Wednesday that Floyd, who died after Chauvin knelt on his neck for nine minutes, a chilling encounter captured on video, had actually died of an overdose—a conclusion that goes against the findings of a Minnesota medical examiner.

“I strongly support Derek Chauvin being pardoned and released from prison,” Greene, a Georgia Republican, wrote on X. “George Floyd died of a drug overdose.”
Some have to make an effort to be really stomach-turning shit-heels but it seems to come naturally for Marj. She definitely has a future in the MAGA world.

Completely on-brand for the Republican Party: 'Those unproductive crumb-snatchers need to pull their own weight.' If they're not freeloading it will help balance out tax cuts for the wealthy.

'GOP Plan Redefines Dependent Child as "Under 7"—But Adds Loophole for Married Couples'
House Republicans, intent on increasing work requirements for assistance programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and promoting marriage, have devised a new definition for “dependent child.” Currently, an adult has a dependent child if that child is under 18 years of age. Under the new proposed House definition for SNAP, once that child turns seven—usually someone in second grade—they could no longer be considered a dependent, with one exception.

The new House proposal also adds ten years to the time when the adult needs to continue working in order to receive SNAP benefits, from 54 to 64 years of age. However, it removes the work requirement if the adult with the dependent child is married and lives with someone who already complies with the new regulations. Unmarried couples with a child would not qualify for the exemption.

The new proposal would be part of Republicans’ legislation that would provide $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, largely benefiting the wealthy.

Who knew? Trump win gave us a do nothing congress.
But even though it’s Congress’ job to pass a budget and set tax policy, most media outlets have been content to frame key elements of the legislation as being driven not by Congress but by the president.

So the news media say that the purpose of the bill is to “deliver Trump’s agenda” or to pass the “Trump tax cuts.” Many have even adopted President Donald Trump’s trademark name for the legislation: his “big, beautiful bill.”

But since Trump’s inauguration, Congress has ceded huge swaths of its policymaking responsibility to the president. That makes the media’s focus on Trump unsurprising. And there’s no denying that Trump has had enormous impact during his first 100 days in office.

During that time, Congress has been unwilling to assert itself as an equal branch of government. Beyond policymaking, Congress has been content to hand over many of its core constitutional powers to the executive branch. As a Congress expert who loves the institution and profoundly respects its constitutionally mandated role, this renunciation of responsibility has been difficult to watch.

I think the P 2025 people just went with the Trump executive order idea, added DOGE and there we go, no need for these bracnhes of government.
...Project 2025 Explained because I wanted to fully understand what this alarming agenda is all about. This book does an excellent job of breaking down The Heritage Foundation’s nearly 1,000-page manifesto into digestible, well-researched insights. It’s shocking to see just how detailed and calculated this plan is to reshape the country without voter input, congressional oversight, or public debate.

The book is clear, well-organized, and easy to read, making it perfect for anyone who wants to stay informed. It lays out exactly who is behind Project 2025, how they plan to expand presidential power, and the devastating impact on civil rights, environmental protections, and workers’ rights. The digital format is also a huge plus, allowing me to take it anywhere and reference it easily.

This isn’t just another policy proposal—it’s a radical roadmap for transforming America. If you care about democracy and the future of the country, you need to read this book. Highly recommend!
