I've been wondering why the bigwigs in the EU have been sinking the slipper into Britain and telling them to GTFO ASAP. It's to put any others off who might have visions of leaving the EU.

Indeed.

Pour encourager les autres...

In an interesting twist, Spain is utterly opposed to Scotland gaining independence and joining the EU separately, for fear it will encourage Catalonia and the Basques to do the same...

Yes. There is no back door for Scotland even though many countries are sympathetic to her cause. She will have to come through the front door once everyone has agreed to open it which will be after Brexit and we all know how long that will take. (never?)

not so sure... May has promised to go through it, referendum has spoken and there won't be another, and she looks like the favourite for nes PM... heck, I'd not be surprised if she really did it fast, she looks like a clone of the maggie

It is not what Britain does what only matters starting art 50 until then nothing will happen. This is time it is going to be quite different as there will be no leeway for Britain. Britain is not coming in is it?

I don't catch your meaning... Britain has every leeway, as nothing can happen till THEY file for art 50. If we're fortunate, May will be PM and be quick to do it... if not, it may be a hesitation waltz for many months or even years.

Where is Britain's leeway? Nobody is talking until art 50 is triggered. After which there will be little room for negotiation. What does Britain expect?
You leave you leave and fuck off! If you think the EU is going to be nice forget it immediately. Do you think a few BMW's are going to make any difference. The EU is bitter. After all the opt outs and stroking of heads calming down tantrum boy to be kicked in the goolies. Just stand back.

problem is that if they don't file, we can't act, and we still have to expedite affairs and whatnot and they can be a stone in the cogs unless we're nice to them... they got their full nuisance power and they know it.

They really need to make an example out of the UK to try to discourage others to follow.

fully agree, but how can we? until they act, we're trapped in the expectative.

Once art 50 is filed, yeah, we'll be ruthless, problem is they know it and are in no hurry.
