Climate change denialism
Re: Climate change denialism
The rumours of the rabid left being humourless are exaggerated.
You know how the humour of the Atheists sort of dimmed after Atheism+ arrived?
This reminds me of that.

What if someone believes in the science, but disbelieves the politicians?

Re: Climate change denialism
Is that a joke, or are you serious, Daggles? I can't tell, because it's absurd either way.
Australia's Labor government introduced a carbon tax in 2012. Two years later the newly elected conservative (odd label under the circumstances) abolished it. I wonder if you can see a correspondence on this chart:

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould
Re: Climate change denialism
The gag was laughing at the notion that giving more money to government will help with this.
But I understand there isn't any room for gags.
Like I mentioned, humour was dismissed from Atheism via Atheism+, and it seems there is no room for gags, even about how STUPID more government sounds.

The gag fails because giving more money to government does help with this. Can't you read a graph?

I've seen governments stupid enough to push HARD for a ban on plastic straws, while handing out free plastic syringes.
All while the largest plastic ocean pollution comes from another continent.
Ya, you keep planning to support government though...big government knows best!

It's like a sin tax. The relevant part is that the more consumers pay for something, the less of it they will consume. This is basic economics. It's got nothing to do with the size of government.

The thread is supposed to be about denialism though...
So no mention of outrageous corruption in an area which can seem sometimes...a bit resistant to criticism.
Denialism.
Ahem.

This does not look like a reply to my post providing evidence that the carbon tax worked as intended in Australia. You're just clutching at straws instead now.

Sounds like those folks in France are doing quite well with it.Hermit wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 4:07 amThis does not look like a reply to my post providing evidence that the carbon tax worked as intended in Australia. You're just clutching at straws instead now.
This is a thread for denialism, I thought.

Re: Climate change denialism
And you thought right. You posted a climate change denialist meme and I posted a reply to it. What's your problem with on-topic posts? Only OK if they agree with climate change denialism?

Climate alarmists can be quite upset by finding that their good, community-minded work has benefited someone unexpected, in an unintended way.
