mmmh, possible, but since the sarcasmeter did not explode, it might have more truth to it than might be expected.

well, perfidious is rightfully applicable to may, if what I hear about how she got promoted from home sec to PM is true.
:whisper: I think that Clinton's post was his attempt at being humorous rather than secret knowledge of illegal blackmail... ;)
You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment...

Since May's announcement to the country last night, - that we all agree with her Brexit deal and that MPs just need to get on and vote for it, and that May is on our side, - this petition to revoke Article 50 has gained 450,000 signatures and this morning is still getting about 2,000 more each minute. If you haven't yet, please do sign and share: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I thought that May had reached rock bottom until I heard her dangerous statement last night. What an abnegation of leadership. She is fucking awful.

Apparently the site has crashed. It's 'Down for Maintenance'. More than 700,000...

Site back up - about 780,000.

I wonder if there is a 'limit' in the software?

If so, perhaps it could be increased to 20 or 30 million then it would take the place of a second referendum...

A great wheeze, the Govt petitions website. Channel the frustrations of the plebs into signing petitions that have all the constitutional heft of a "find your sex style" quiz on Facebook. People get to feel they've done their bit. Govt carries on regardless. It's genius.

Yeah, but pretty much every signature today is a personal "fuck you" to Theresa May, in response to her "I'm on your side" comments last night. That's got to be worth something.

Mrs May's "It's nothing to do with me: it's the fault of those people elected to represent you," plea to the unwashed hasn't gone down well with anyone - even the unwashed.

The site appears to be broken - or maybe just slow. I cast a vote - and why not - but the confirmation email is not arriving.

Site getting overwhelmed. Waiting for it to top a million, which will at least be a quixotic milestone.
