https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... g_c-US_d-1Trump to scrap Nasa climate research in crackdown on ‘politicized science’
Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding as the president-elect seeks to shift focus away from home in favor of deep space exploration.
Donald Trump is poised to eliminate all climate change research conducted by Nasa as part of a crackdown on “politicized science”, his senior adviser on issues relating to the space agency has said.
Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century.
This would mean the elimination of Nasa’s world-renowned research into temperature, ice, clouds and other climate phenomena. Nasa’s network of satellites provide a wealth of information on climate change, with the Earth science division’s budget set to grow to $2bn next year. By comparison, space exploration has been scaled back somewhat, with a proposed budget of $2.8bn in 2017.
Bob Walker, a senior Trump campaign adviser, said there was no need for Nasa to do what he has previously described as “politically correct environmental monitoring”.
“We see Nasa in an exploration role, in deep space research,” Walker told the Guardian. “Earth-centric science is better placed at other agencies where it is their prime mission.
“My guess is that it would be difficult to stop all ongoing Nasa programs but future programs should definitely be placed with other agencies. I believe that climate research is necessary but it has been heavily politicized, which has undermined a lot of the work that researchers have been doing. Mr Trump’s decisions will be based upon solid science, not politicized science.”

Why haven't we been back to the moon? Because cocksuckers like Obama have redirected NASA from it's chartered mission, which is NOT, as Walker says, "Earth-centric science."
I think it's a travesty that Russia and China may colonize the moon before those who put man's footprint on it even go back.

I'm hoping he can't just simply end funding. NASA have satellites that can measure ice thickness to the mm. Others that can measure temperature. Also if we really need a shot at space exploration we need to understand this planet.Brian Peacock wrote:And who politicised climate research Donald? Yeah, the corporate-backed denialists. Of course talking about diverting funds to space exploration in the context of Trump's adviser is a red-herring. It's all about trying to belittle the work done.

Re: The Reign of Trump
And interestingly those satellites are showing that global warming is a hoax...NASA's job is not to understand this planet, it's to get us to other planets.Animavore wrote: I'm hoping he can't just simply end funding. Well, sometimes "work" done needs to be belittled and defunded because it's not really work, it's propaganda.Of course talking about diverting funds to space exploration in the context of Trump's adviser is a red-herring. It's all about trying to belittle the work done.
NASA will still launch the satellites, they just won't build or operate them. That will be up to the agencies authorized to engage in such research and it will come out of THEIR budgets, leaving NASA with its own space exploration budget unrobbed by the AGW hoax zealots.

Is this their new strategy because it is wank. They are even calling Bernie Sanders a 'white supremacist' a socialist atheist Jew, FFS.Animavore wrote:http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 23671.htmlWhite nationalist movement growing much faster than Isis on Twitter, study finds
Donald Trump is a prominent subject among white nationalists on Twitter. According to the study, white nationalist users are “heavily invested” in the Republican’s candidacy. Tweets mentioned Mr Trump more than other popular topics among the groups.
Republican candidate has emerged as a favourite of white supremacist leaders, such as former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke, due in part to his hard-line stance against immigration from Mexico and his proposals to prohibit immigration of Muslims from countries like Syria and Afghanistan.

But mentions of Mr Trump and the use of Trump-related hashtags were second only talk of the “white genocide” – the belief that the influx of non-white cultures and increasing diversity in the US are fuelling the extinction of the “white race”.

Nobody wants Commifornia and New York wankers picking the president every year and that is why the Electoral College exists. You don't get to complain about it just because EC didn't give the result you wanted. The American people can now start to get it removed for future elections if that is what they want.Scot Dutchy wrote:WTF!!!!Hillary Clinton now 2 million votes ahead of Donald TrumpDemocrat's lead over the President-elect reaches margin of 1.5 per cent
Donald Trump continues to spend his days ensconced in Trump Tower as he puts together his government. All the while, the lead enjoyed over him in the popular vote by his rival Hillary Clinton, continues to grow.
On Wednesday, it emerged that Ms Clinton’s margin of victory over Mr Trump in the popular vote had now passed two million people.
Dave Wasserman of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, said Ms Clinton had now collected 64,223,958 votes, compared to Mr Trump’s 62,206,395.
Ms Clinton’s scale of victory over Mr Trump in the popular vote is larger than the previous occasions in US history where the person who won the popular vote, lost the Electoral College.
Other presidential hopefuls who won the popular vote but lost the election include Democrat Al Gore in 2000, Democratic-Republican Andrew Jackson in 1824, Democrat Samuel Tilden in 1876 and Democrat Grover Cleveland in 1888.
Before this year, Mr Gore had the record for presidential losers who won the popular vote. He beat Republican George W Bush by 543,816.
....
A week after his historic election, Mr Trump tweeted: “The Electoral College is actually genius in that it brings all states, including the smaller ones, into play. Campaigning is much different!”
In 2012, he appeared to have a different view.
“The Electoral College is a disaster for a democracy,” Mr Trump said, when Mr Obama beat Mitt Romney.

There is no such thing as the alt right as it is just lefty/libtard bullshit. They like to group people together and give them labels (they don't understand individualism because of their collectivist mindset) so they can throw 'isms', 'phobias' and 'insults' at them. Us conservatives have existed long before you lefty/libtards got on the scene and we will be here long after you have gone. Probably after you all commit suicide by self immolation because you all feel guilty for being born.Animavore wrote:https://thinkprogress.org/thinkprogress ... .mgeaqry0qYou can learn everything you need to know about the “alt-right” by looking at the man who popularized its name. Credit goes to Richard Spencer, head of the white supremacist National Policy Institute (NPI), and one of the country’s leading contemporary advocates of ideological racism.
The weekend before Thanksgiving, Spencer keynoted an NPI conference in Washington, D.C. Over the course of his speech, he approvingly quoted Nazi propaganda, said that the United States is meant to be a “white country,” and suggested that many political commentators are “soulless golem” controlled by Jewish media interests.
That, in a nutshell, is the face of the so-called alt-right. As Spencer himself has said, the core of alt-right ideology is the preservation of “white identity.”
So you might wonder what, if anything, distinguishes the alt-right from more hidebound racist movements such as the American Nazi Party and the Ku Klux Klan. The answer is very little, except for a bit of savvy branding and a fondness for ironic Twitter memes. Spencer and his ilk are essentially standard-issue white supremacists who discovered a clever way to make themselves appear more innocuous — even a little hip.
A reporter’s job is to describe the world as it is, with clarity and accuracy. Use of the term “alt-right,” by concealing overt racism, makes that job harder.
tl:dr In other words call the Alt Right what they are; Nazis.
