Re: Republicans: continued
Trump wants to cut all aid to Ukraine and all of the world. No free stuff!
Newsweek: He continued: "Cut the hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars going to corrupt foreign countries, cut the mass releases of illegal aliens that are depleting our social safety net and destroying our country, cut the left-wing gender programs from our military, cut the billions being spent on climate extremism, cut waste, fraud and abuse."
The release of the illegals costs us nothing. We don't house or feed them.

Vice President Mike Pence discovered classified documents in Indiana home

Vice President Mike Pence discovered classified documents in Indiana home
Vice President Mike Pence informed Congress Tuesday that he discovered documents bearing classified markings in his Carmel, Indiana, home on Jan. 16 from his time as vice president.
Following the revelations that classified documents from President Biden's tenure as vice president were found at the Penn Biden Center think tank and Wilmington, Delaware, the vice president's team conducted searches of Pence's Indiana home and the office of his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom.
According to his team, Pence informed the National Archives on Jan. 18 of a small number of potential classified documents found in two small boxes. Another two boxes contained copies of vice presidential papers. The National Archives then informed the FBI per standard procedure.
Pence attorney Greg Jacob wrote on Jan. 18 Acting Director Kate Dillon McClure of the White House Liaison Division National Archives and Records Administration to inform her of the papers "containing classified markings."
After the documents with classified markings were discovered, they were immediately put into a safe, according to the Pence team.

McCarthy troubles:
Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) said she will not support Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (Calif.) effort to deny Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, making matters more difficult for the GOP leader as he looks to follow through on his pledge to not seat the congresswoman on the panel.
Spartz also said she opposes McCarthy’s vow to block Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) from the House Intelligence Committee.

I hear Hillary is laughing about all these men who can't keep the classified stuff on a server.

Re: Republicans: continued
The house has control of spending, and they could indeed cut benefits for 2024. But the "money" for 2023 has already been spent. This is just the credit card bill they are refusing to pay. Not sure what law they could pass affecting 2024, all will be vetoed.
https://news.yahoo.com/republicans-plan ... 00327.htmlGOP leaders gave a slide presentation to Republican House members on Tuesday outlining their budget and spending priorities, CNN reported. According to a screenshot of the presentation viewed by CNN, the spending priorities were vague but mentioned reforms to "mandatory spending programs" that could include Social Security and Medicare.
Additionally, Republicans have proposed converting Medicaid and Affordable Care Act subsidies to block grants, which would cut spending by $3.6 trillion over 10 years.
"That would obviously be strongly opposed by the Senate and the White House," Edwin Park, a public policy professor at Georgetown University who focuses on health policy, told Insider, but "the holdouts were clear that they would hold raising the debt limit hostage to major spending cuts, and it is possible that smaller, damaging cuts to Medicaid could be on the table, even if the most draconian cuts are dropped."

Re: Republicans: continued
A major part of the political and public confusion is thinking and talking about this as a credit card. There is no fiscal crisis, it's just the GOP refusing to allow the government to pay the bills the US actually can afford to pay so they can beat their chests and bellow on FOXNEWS that the Democrats are spending like drunken sailors.Tero wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:35 pmThe house has control of spending, and they could indeed cut benefits for 2024. Re: Republicans: continued
Well the money is spent. It is like a credit card in that way. What is not spent now is under some contract for 2023. They can cancel plans ten years ahead if those are more easily canceled.

Re: Republicans: continued
It's not a credit card. It's a budget. You've spent up to your budget, but you can afford to extend it. It's not like a credit card because you owe the money to yourself. This isn't like draining a bank account or spending the last of the cash from the shoe box under the bed.

Kevin McCarhy's violent district in CA:
And this isn't the first time someone has noted the violence in McCarthy’s district. In recent years, as McCarthy and fellow Republicans have tried to portray Democrat-led cities as overrun with crime, journalists have pointed out the violence exploding in McCarthy's own backyard.
“Killing County” may be the most vivid reminder yet.
