I do hope we get a coalition i think the more parties that work together the more chance we have of working through the economic crisis

The Corgis had better be on their best behaviour tomorrow. Lots of visitors expected to Buckingham Palace.

However, it's too much to ask that Prince Philip be on his best behaviour. Heaven forbied ... :coffee:

Don't see it, it'll loose the Lib Dems their core voters. I already know it'll loose them one voter.

They both want 3 budgets to sort the economy apparently. I think it's the best move for the lib dems - 3 years and a third of the cabinet. Or it can fold and the situation will remain... the lib dems best hope of doing something is to form a strong coalition.

If they were able to get an STV system for the next election, and stop the Tories doing anything too stupid, I wouldn't mind too much.

If the Lib Dems hold the balance of power, then their strongest position would be to remain independant.

Yep - but then no government could form..well a very weak minority one only, which would collapse in due course.

Last night, I took a quick teabreak at a motorway service station just as the news about Brown announcing his plans to step down and about Clegg 'two timing'.

My response was:

Basically the Lib Dems and the Tories will betray their core voters, like Labour did 13 years ago. The big parties don't represent ideologies anymore, they're populist, they care about power, nothing else.
