No it's not. It's a link to Scottish newspaper stories from this week about the chief of Barrhead travel, who wrote to all his employees telling them to vote no in the referendum. He was then rightly challenged for what many employees will feel is inappropriate behaviour. The document he sent was actually full of outright lies as well. Being challenged on these lies apparently then constitutes "abuse" by the dreaded "cybernats". ie anyone who uses social media and happens to disagree with Better Together.Rum wrote:How soon and how predictably nationalism turns nasty. The link is to pictures of newspapers describing physical attacks on some people opposed to independence.

Good try though Rum.

Utter ignorance. But as I and others have pointed out how wrong you are, I can only conclude you are a liar.mistermack wrote:My thoughts entirely.Rum wrote:How soon and how predictably nationalism turns nasty. Except that my thoughts also go further down that road.
I think that nationalism is a despicable instinct, that we have all inherited through having evolved from aggressive territorial apes.
Some of us recognise that, and some people wallow in it, like the apes we descended from.
The Scottish Nationalists appeal to this base instinct, and lie their heads off that it's nothing to do with it, at the same time. Of course, they are not the only ones, they have their English counterparts, the BNP and UKIP. Nice people. Not.

Should I worry, if a cunt calls me a liar? I think it's a good sign.ronmcd wrote:Utter ignorance. So what's happening over this independence lark? To the kilt wearing members of ratz what's is the mood like up there? Are you leaving us or not?

Then that's when we'll ken aboot it... I dinna trust individual opinions tae predict anything (except mine, of course), and on that topic, I must admit I dinna ha'e enow data tae be able tae be predictin' a thing.
Plus it looks like all our Scots have left the place, a real shame.

What is it with you Frenchies and your lack of 'teh dramaz' popcorn sales must be at an all time low over there.

We reserve dramaz for sexual affairs, politics and comedies, which happens to generally be more or less the same anyway... I suspect that many of the people that fled Ratz over recent months and years did so due to an overdose of dramaz, so I try to remain composed and not cause more flights, I'd hate to have to leave because there was nobody interesting left.

It's "squeeky bum time" for the no campaign. Polls still showing a No vote though, but wouldn't take much of a swing to reverse. The big unknown is the large % of Scots who don't normally vote, but who are expected to vote in September, if they are we assume the disenfranchised, largely poorer, not ever asked for their opinions in polls (as they dont vote) ... what will they do? The yes campaign think they'll vote yes.DaveDodo007 wrote:So what's happening over this independence lark? To the kilt wearing members of ratz what's is the mood like up there? Labour voters also appear to be swithering, looking at a hideously disappointing right of centre Westminster Labour party.
I still think it'll come down to people standing in the voting booth, looking at the paper, thinking ... can I actually say no?

All calm and full of confidence in the yes campaign then? Even though if Alex loses, he will have completely blown it. How dumb will that be, in history, to fight tooth and nail for a vote that you lose.ronmcd wrote: It's "squeeky bum time" for the no campaign.
Bit like the liberal democrats and their proportional rep.

Personally, I've just been awfy busy, but I've been keeping an eye on some freds - even though my being busy and my being a slow typist precluded my participating.
I'm voting YES. For many years, I voted Labour with a shake of the head, because they were always so far to the right. Then, they moved even further to the right, and now you couldnae slip a Rizla paper between Millipede and Camoron (or between either of them and Cleggbite.) So, I have come to the view that the only way I have any chance of living in a leftly-inclined country is if the bit of land I live in pushes off from our enormous and right-voting southern neighbour. That's it. No rampant nationalism (though I'm proud of Scottish culture and insane about Scottish fitba), no hatred of the English. An entirely rational desire not to be forever governed by tories like the aforementioned three posh boys.

Pray, do not mock me: I am a very foolish fond old man; And, to deal plainly, I fear I am not in my perfect mind.
Blah blah blah blah blah!
Memo to self: no Lir chocolates.
