Nope. Zimmerman didn't invoke stand your ground, he used traditional self-defense law, just as he would have in any state. Also, SYG wasn't struck down by the Miami judge, what was struck down was a new law that went into effect on July 1st that changed the burden of proof in pre-trial hearings to the prosecution. The Florida Supreme Court ruled in 2015 that that burden was on the defendant to prove self-defense in the pre-trial hearing, the new law stated that the prosecution must disprove that contention. Our SYG law is still in effect, in exactly the same way it was prior to July 1st, 2017.

Maybe, I wasn't on the jury, but that's the defense he used. He waived his right to a SYG pretrial hearing and his attorneys didn't raise it at trial. So, no SYG, just traditional self-defense.

I know, I'm the one who drove all the women off the site by using terms like "fairer sex." It wasn't the people who started posting regularly right before many women started leaving the site.
