Thousands of Gazans killed..but now Israel can't take over.
Guardian:
Israel must not reoccupy Gaza, the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, has said, adding however that Israel might control the territory for a transition period.
The comments, made at the end of a G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Japan, echoed White House remarks on Tuesday suggesting opposition to a long-term occupation of Gaza.

Israel gonna control the territory with a iron fist. A test run for when 'merica controls Iran the same way. Given the givens. This religious communism the old bad left is hiding behind, known as radical Islam, must be stopped. Whatever news you are hearing it is wrong compared with the plan.

Re: Palestine v Israel.
In light of my previous comments about Israel's allies beginning to back away from an increasing ugly picture emerging in Gaza re civilian casualties:

Deadly Israeli air strikes have hit three Gaza hospitals and a school, and a ground battle was under way at another hospital, Palestinian officials said, as the US voiced fresh concern at the war's mounting death toll.
In his strongest comments to date on civilian suffering, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken denounced the number of Palestinians killed.
Gaza health authorities said that at least 11,078 Palestinians, including 4,506 children, had been killed since Israel launched its retaliation for the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has denounced the soaring number of Palestinians killed in Gaza, saying more needs to be done to protect the civilians.
In his strongest comments to date on civilians bearing the brunt of the war, Mr Blinken welcomed the four-hour humanitarian Israeli pauses the White House announced on Thursday but said further action was required to protect Gaza's civilians.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi as he wrapped up a nine-day trip to the Middle East and Asia, he said: "Far too many Palestinians have been killed; far too many have suffered these past weeks.
"And we want to do everything possible to prevent harm to them and to maximise the assistance that gets to them."

The US is trying to have its cake and eat it too, IMO. But comments from Israeli allies recently have a very different tone to that just after the Hamas incursion...

https://www.npr.org/2023/11/11/12124589 ... acks-oct-7TEL AVIV, Israel — In a text message to journalists on Friday, a spokesperson from Israel's Foreign Ministry said "around 1,200" is now what he called "the official number of people" killed by Hamas militants on Oct. 7. That's about 200 fewer victims than Israel had been citing for more than a month.
"This is not a final number. It is an updated estimate," Lior Haiat, spokesperson for the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote. He added that the toll might still change again.
I'll ask an IDF Rav Séren how this is possible tomorrow.

Guy on Mastodon:
So let’s do some maths:
Israel’s military estimates that out of the 13,000 or so Palestinians it has killed in seven weeks, 1,000 - 2,000 of them are Hamas fighters.
They estimate about 30,000 Hamas fighters in total and their stated goal is to wipe out Hamas entirely.
Given the current ratio of deaths, how many Palestinians will they have to kill to wipe out Hamas?
Answer: 195,000 - 390,000

Why bomb civilian buildings - hospitals, schools, churches - when Hamas are safely underground?
