If it quacks like a duck etc. Certainly applies to people dressing like the rest of the fascists, marching with the fascists, carrying torches like the fascists, shouting fascist slogans, and whatever.

Putting a name to a face of someone who participates in a public protest march does not qualify as "delving into their private lives"
Śiva wrote:'outing' them to their employers, friends, and families.
People who participate in a public protest march actually out themselves by the fact that they do so.
Śiva wrote:Basically doing everything specifically contravened by article 12.
Let's recapitulate: No interference with privacy, family, home or correspondence has occurred. People need to accept responsibility for their actions. It is what they do that affects their honour and reputation, not the fact that other people point out what these people have done. So, an emphatic no to "basically doing everything specifically contravened by article 12".

As I said they're accepting names of whomever and then 'outing' them. People not at the rally. So you're idea of participation in a public event making one a public figure doesn't even apply.

Funny you should think so. The article this particular discussion is based on is about Jerrod Kuhn, who was filmed on Friday and Saturday last week by a BBC documentary crew as he carried a torch on the University of Virginia campus and chanted Nazi slogans and marched with the KKK and neo-Nazis the following day. If you know of people who were named for doing so but were not participating in the protest, provide a link.

Putting a name to a face of a participant in a public event is not "arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence". As for "attacks upon his honour and reputation", I don't think that happened either. Jerrod Kuhn succeeded in nixing both his honour and reputation all on his own - assuming he had any to begin with - by dressing like the rest of that fascist mob, chanting anti-Jewish slogans along with it, marching with it and carrying Tiki torches just like those losers. His story that he is not a fascist does not wash. He just quacked too much like a duck not to be one. Apparently he was a prolific quacker at the Daily Stormer too.

Sure, his (and their) activities fall under the rubric of freedom of expression. People need to remain aware that they are not only free to engage in them, but they are also responsible for having done so. And when they are done in public, there is no issue concerning interference with privacy.
Interesting point, not sure it's correct though.

In any case, they (the people doing this naming and shaming) are accepting names from the crowd of people who were not at this rally, but are submitted as being Nazis, KKK, racists, or whatever, delving into their private lives, 'outing' them to their employers, friends, and families. Basically doing everything specifically contravened by article 12.
Whatever is the world coming to? Poor Nazis...

Meanwhile a Texas cop is telling people they have the right to 'use deadly force' after dark against anybody they find attempting to deface or destroy a monument or statue.

"Texas cop urges Facebook followers to use ‘deadly force’ against anyone harming a Confederate statue"
“Criminal Mischief (Vandalism) is a crime,” [Phil] Ryan wrote, “So, let’s say someone is defacing or destroying a monument or a statue, not that it happens, just a hypothetical. That would be Criminal Mischief under Texas Penal Code.”

Ryan then outlined the legalities of shooting a person on private or public property by citing Texas statutes on “Criminal Mischief, “Protection of a Third Person’s Property,” and “Protection Of One’s Own Property,” before getting down to the right to shoot someone.

“Chapter 9.42 states: DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property,” Ryan wrote, noting that deadly force is justified after dark.

He then added, “Bottom line, if someone is destroying a monument or statue that isn’t theirs, you can defend it by force during the day with deadly force at night,” before quipping, “Just a little tip, from your Uncle Phil…”
