No one reads my headlines. I don't put any effort in because the username underneath is all I need to grab their attention. :tea:

My (Born Again) friend in Cockermouth has just sent me a text telling me that the miracle happened and her house and cellar were untouched by the flooding! She did also add that many of her friends from church have had their homes ruined! No irony at all!

Inside this fortnight's Private Eye, on page 5 (or '1' if their numbering system made sense), there's a photo of Brown visiting the flood zone - bubble caption "I'm after the floating voter" :hehe:

Another 4 inches! As if the first 12 inches weren't enough!

(Sorry, been waiting since my PC died to use that one.)

Edit: Oh, fuck. I don't believe I just said that.

Sympathies from an exiled Cumbrian. And to think I was bitching in an email home about how unseasonally hot it was here in Hong Kong while all this was happening. You live 25 miles away? If it's in the right direction you'd be mighty close to my home base when I'm back in the UK during the summer.

And a small point of information for all the purveyors of jokes about the town's name: it's known as "Knob-a-Gob" locally.

Well another coincidence - (referring to having lived in HK for years). I live in Carlisle these days.

Well as it happens I am in Penrith later today for work.
