Re: KKK Irish Outreach
Bizzare. Is that your world, the protests?
Where else might the effects of racism play out? How might being black and reading about this shooting be different than being an old white guy learning that calling people retarded is no longer considered cool?

Re: KKK Irish Outreach
I wonder if it was Prods or Catholics dressed as the KKK.
My guess is that the Orange Order sympathise with the KKK while the Catholics would sympathise with black people, but you never know.

And my gin!
And my gin!
Re: KKK Irish Outreach
It makes sense. Gerry Adams was friends with Nelson Mandela, sympathetic to his cause, and cites him as an influence in the peace process.
The Orange Order are a Northern Ireland hate group.

Yes, the IRA, that well known civil disobedience movement.
Prejudice still runs deep in Ireland.

Re: KKK Irish Outreach
The IRA started as a group protecting protestors in civil disobedience marches after the British bashed them with truncheons. They started like Antifa today.
Of course it was under Sinn Fein Adams led the peace process. Not the IRA so I don't know why bring them up.
Anyway. Northern Ireland is UK. Not Ireland.

Re: KKK Irish Outreach
There appear to be elements of the Orange Order who consider the KKK to be spiritual kin. One would assume that's because the KKK has historically considered Catholics as enemies. On another site I had a discussion with a fellow who was certain that the KKK had its origins in the Orange Order. I presented evidence to the contrary, but he was passionately adamant. It seems he got the idea from the photo below and from a book by Tim Pat Coogan, who is by no means an authority on American history (Coogan's idea is definitely incorrect, to put it in plain words). I'm not sure about the photo either.

Of course they are spiritual kin, both are made up of WASP devoted to preserving their domination in areas where they are increasingly marginalized....L'Emmerdeur wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 2:19 amThere appear to be elements of the Orange Order who consider the KKK to be spiritual kin. There's a strong connection. Much of the south, particularly the Appalachian Mountains, were settled by Scots-Irish.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Here is a revolutionary idea - how about thinking of people as people first, rather than a race first?Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:44 pmBizzare. Is that your world, the protests?

It's a lesson taught to me by people who have been labelled retarded their whole life. Believe me when I say that they have plenty to teach you, too.

If you take out your race reference, this could also be said about Canada's Indigenous population.
Is it OK to preserve your domination? Or is it only ok when you are against the majority?

Re: KKK Irish Outreach
Cunt, after 9/11 were Americans more or less afraid of terrorism than they had been before 9/11? Now, ask the same question of blacks given events like the shooting described above. It's that simple.
I'd appreciate it if would explain how this:

addresses my point, and specifically how you imagine that it counters my point. It feels like you're just waving your hands around. It looks like you're attempting to insinuate that we disagree because you understand the world at some deeper level. Well, take me to that deeper level. Explain how your comment relates to mine, and how it counters the point I made. Here is a revolutionary idea - how about thinking of people as people first, rather than a race first?
