The same as Russia did with Eastern Europe.

And, come to think of it, the same as the Muslim world is doing with Western Europe (except, unlike the other two examples, that's not a result of any government's deliberately planned policy).

I made a very Japanophile professor mad at me for suggesting the Meiji government was doing the same thing in the 1880s. But I produced evidence she couldn't refute.

No, I'm completely sober. Just the idea of raving Muslims crashing against the Chinese war machine strikes me as extremely ironic.

The game company 'EA' predicted this happening in 2003 when they released *Command and Conquer Generals*. (good game btw)

China finishes the job America starts if I recall the storyline.

Agreed in both respects. It's going to make a good movie someday... :pop:

The United States seem to feel they have the right to send the occasional drone-plane across the Pakistan boarder without permission.

I think China would feel approximately the same way about sending the entire Red Army across the Pakistan boarder.

I think Pakistan is OK with that, as long as too many civilians aren't killed. I seem to recall a while back that the US or UN or both gave Pakistan a diplomatic bitch-slapping for taking a few billion dollars in aid to fight Al Qaeda and not only having jack shit to show for it, but asking for more.
I think China would feel approximately the same way about sending the entire Red Army across the Pakistan boarder.
Tibet, Pakistan, what's the diff?

Well, except for the nukes.

Didn't Mao Tse-tung once say that China could 'win' a nuclear war due to it's huge population?

And presumably he was talking about a war with either the US or the USSR, who each had far more (and better) nukes than Pakistan does.

Actually, in a more considered reply, this bodes ill for minorities in China... :eddy: :(

Just makes it a little easier for the Chinese authorities to play the "terrorism" card in justifying internal repression... :nono:

:dono: Never read Mao, but ya gotta admit, it'd take a lotta work to make a glass parking lot that big.

Anyway, even after a war with China, you're ready for another one an hour later.

There are more than enough nukes to turn the world to glass, let alone China.
The problem with provoking China is they have the man power to simply flood a region with troops until they've got what they wanted. They don't need nuclear weapons.
