Re: How does he spin it?
I haven't seen the latest report yet, but the word is it doesn't contain anything significant evidence-wise. It apparently contains a history of such cases though (probably similarly lacking in actual evidence). I'm waiting for Trump to tweet his determination after being briefed on it today. Should be interesting.

Well, I don't think he denied it did he? He did say that it had no effect on the election.

How does 42 spin it? I don't know, we'll have to wait and see when re-appears.

Re: How does he spin it?
No evidence of Russian hacking........
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Has Trump bought twitter?
He seems to be giving them a suspiciously big dose of publicity.
Or maybe his good mate owns shares.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
Re: How does he spin it?
His response has been rather disappointing. The report contained no actual evidence, again, but it did make a nod of the head to possible evidence being included in the classified report - the report Trump was briefed on - but Trump didn't indicate in any way that he was satisfied with the conclusions, shared by both reports, or whether he was convinced or unconvinced by this evidence we, the public, are not privileged enough to get to know.
It seems the intelligence community has just doubled down on the same bet they've been playing this entire time - now with 50 pages of fluff instead of 13 - and making the even more specious claim that Putin was directly behind these hacks because he was "pleased with the election results." It seems they're relying on the unrelenting propaganda spin of the left-wing media to continue to churn out headlines critical of Trump and damning of Russia on the same lack of evidence (although I have to admit most news outlets point out in their stories the fact that there is next to no evidentiary support for the assertions contained in the report). They still haven't made the claim that whatever evidence they do have, if they have any, cannot be released for reasons of national security. They leave it to the people to infer that's the case.

Do you really think you saw the actual report? It was a sanitised version.
"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".
Re: How does he spin it?
I'd feel a bit better if the CIA put it on its honour and actually stated there was evidence available, only we can't be shown it for reasons of national security. They haven't even done that much.Scot Dutchy wrote:Do you really think you saw the actual report? It was a sanitised version.
Re: How does he spin it?
I guess his spin is to let it blow over and pursue closer relations with Russia regardless.Trump renews calls for warmer ties with Russia following hacking report
U.S. president-elect Donald Trump is renewing his call for warmer relations with Russia.
That's what he says in a tweet Saturday — a day after intelligence leaders said in a report that Russia meddled in the U.S. election on Trump's behalf.
The report predicts Russia isn't finished intruding in U.S. politics and policymaking.
Trump says on Twitter that both countries should work together to solve some of the world's most pressing issues.
Trump has long argued that improving relations with Russia would be a good thing.
He says the U.S. has enough problems around the world and that "Only 'stupid' people, or fools" would think improved relations were bad.

Re: Enjoy President Trump, Courtesy of The Kremlin
The report released by the government of the US on Friday is almost entirely bereft of actual evidence pointing to Russian government involvement in the hacking of the DNC and Podesta's emails. Perhaps there will be further disclosures, but I'm not holding my breath.
On emerging from being briefed on this matter, Trump resorted to weaseling. Apparently unable to deny any longer that the Russians did the hacking, he instead proclaimed that their efforts had no effect on the outcome of the election. Some here may choose to believe that, just as they still may choose to maintain that the Russians weren't involved.
Elsewhere, I've linked to non-government sources of evidence. It appears that without even bothering to actually spend the time to examine this evidence, Forty Two still proclaimed that there is "no evidence" available, while Śiva chose to hurl childish insults rather than attempt to critically examine the evidence that is available.
It's very likely that the classified government report contained evidence paralleling what is already available, and other more sensitive evidence. Even if the report had contained this sort of thing, it's almost a dead cert that people like Śiva and Forty Two would still be denying its validity. As it is, they can point to the lack of evidence in the government report. Trump, on the other hand, seems to have been convinced by his briefing.
