That's not quite accurate. The tally of the popular vote has not bee completed. The states count the votes cast on election day or in "early voting" (in the few states that have early voting), but they did not tally the absentee ballots and mail-in ballots, which are not counted unless the election is close enough that the mail in and absentee ballots can change the outcome of the election in that state.

Absentee ballots tend to favor the Republican candidate by 2-1 or even 3-1 margin. So, we don't know what the total tally of votes cast is. If, however, the votes of absentee ballots were even close to the split that we normally see, Trump would far more than make up for the 150,000 or so advantage cited for Clinton.

Nonsense - the polls were showing Hillary well in the lead all the way up to election day. She was supposed to walk away with it. Like HuffPo said, 98% chance of victory. The most cautious assessments, like from Nate Silver's 538.com outfit, gave him only like a 36% chance of victory, even up to Election-Eve. The polls of early voters were supposedly showing that Clinton was running away with it.

They were wrong. They were wrong on Election Eve and they were wrong in August. Unless you have some reason to think that they were way off base on Election Eve, but two months early they had it well in hand, dead bang on? How likely do you think that is? That the media and pollsters were correct in August, but way off base in October and early November?

And the absentee votes are largely in the democratic coastal states (most notably california) where it is predicted that those postal votes etc will favour Clinton 2 to 1. - http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc ... ow/507455/. She's going to shit it in on the popular vote. The predicted margin will be 2% - or something like 2.5 million votes.

The media have done no such thing. They have from time to time pointed out some parallels between what Trump has announced he will do and how that resembles some of the things Hitler has done. For instance, when he announced that he would require all Muslims in the USA to register with a database - yes, that includes American born citizens who are Muslims - the media mentioned the similarity to Hitler requiring all Jews to register as Jews. That is totally reasonable.

The irony is palpable. Trump tells one lie after another. He just can't help himself. Even with little things, like claiming a crowd of 15,000 people attending a rally of his when the venue cannot hold more than 10,000.
