It's an ill wind, etc.

We'll see the back of Austerity under May. Instead we'll have 'The New Austerity', or perhaps 'Austerity Two Point Oh Fuck'.

There was a fair bit of schadenfreude from parts of Europe, hoping to see old Blighty fall on its face...

Yeah, I suppose we did the same over the Eurozone crisis - "There but from the grace of Dog" and al that.

Very true. All those tory bankers who were laughing at the Euro along with their American counterparts. It just gets stronger.

The pound is rising again but why? Well the art 50 trigger has to be approved by Parliament. Well with 400+ against leave and only 100+ for it nothing much is going to be triggered.

What a fantastic boost that would be for UKIP, if they tried that.
I can see people coming back out of retirement yet again, for that juicy prize.
We could even get Prime Minister Farage !!

I can't wait.

Well if its a choice between middle class tax increases and cutting benefits so the poor to starve then the poor can live in tent city and live of food banks as far as I'm concerned, the EU might send us some money for famine relief you never know

I dont think so. Remember Farage has fucked off and why would it be a boost for UKIP? It would be a huge relief for the Bregreters.

This business about people regretting the leave vote has already evaporated.
It lasted a couple of days at the most.

Everybody I'm speaking to who voted out is now quite happy to be leaving.
And they would be up in arms if Parliament voted down the decision.

The government's own lawyers say that the Prime Minister doesn't need a vote to invoke article 50. But if they do hold a vote, and it fails, all hell will break loose.

Ukip could end up as the biggest party at the next general election.
Unless the conservatives got together, and made sure that the vote was won. I think that that would be the most likely outcome. Conservative MPs don't want to be donating their seats to UKIP.
