What's funny for me is that I used to be a raging leftist actually. I was always pro-gun, but when the RNC was in my state in 2008; I protested it, every day even. Since then I've gotten older and mended my ways. After finishing college and grad school, I exposed myself to new view points, unlike the liberal indoctrination camp that they called college. There were also events that happened that made see how much the left values freedom and liberty, which is not at all. The only freedom they cherish is to engage in degenerate behavior.

Another thing I remember is just how right, just, and morally superior I felt. The fact is, nothing is going to change their minds and there is no point in trying. Something has to happen on a personal level, something that impacts them in a very close way, in order to override that cognitive dissonance. For me, I was essentially betrayed by those who I thought had my interests at heart, but of course, big shocker, they didn't.

Another thing that fostered change in me came from how closely I work with people and all the interesting things I get to see. I get to see how politics and their beliefs affect people on an individual level. The simple fact is that leftist ideology destroys people and their mental health. People get used to and will even embrace a lower standard is living, especially if it means that their day to day life is easier and they don't really have to work hard at anything. However on deep down on the inside, they are totally miserable. Many won't even admit that to themselves, let alone anyone else. In this "new normal" people don't even recognize when they are being taken advantage of or when things not in their own interest. This is why the word "cuck" is gaining popularity since it is such an easy way to describe someone who is not only being taken advantage of, but allows it to happen, and is so messed up, may even enjoy it. It's almost a form of masochism, there is such a deficit of self respect. I suggesting looking into what's been coined, "pathological altruism."

So, even simple yes or no questions will never be answered, and if they are, it won't be without some smug, sarcastic nonsense to help them feel superior.

And you are correct, it is so bad, they will engage in fascist behavior that they claim to be so against. It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to come to terms with something like, "but it's not fascist when we do it." Since they see themselves as so morally superior, anything can be justified.

Trust me I have been on the same journey, When I was young I hung around with the Socialist Workers Party lot. Though as I grew I noticed how anti free speech they were and their tactics seem very familiar. Then I read a lot of George Orwell novels and essays and recognized that all they had was emotional arguments.
