bullshit. Why were the parents laughing then? They knew the kids would find black babies wrong. How did they know that? Because they haven't raised their kids as tolerant. If I gave either of my two young kids a black doll they wouldn't even care. In fact they do have at least one black doll. You claim psychological knowledge, you must know that toddlers don't care about skin colour. It's only through learned behaviours from their parents, roll models and peers that they pick up this stuff.

Technically, I don't disagree. If someone was threatening me with even only their hands/fists and I had any kind of weapon (stick/knife/gun), I would tell them I will use it to defend myself and then use it if they continue. Morally, I think I would be in the right, but the law may be different. But there is such growing recognition over the last decade or so on 'one punch kills' here in Australia, that punching is being considered a much more serious threat and offence than it was back in ye olde days.

And yet you still cannot carry a handgun for personal defense. How sad. Anyway, whatever the law might say I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six.

If I want back to cab driving I was going to get one of those telescopic batons (or perhaps a short baseball like club) for protection. It's illegal here to carry that stuff around, but fuck that.
