I took this test and came up "Left Libertarian". I think the questions were interesting, but not as in depth as possible.

I would say in general that, despite my disdain for his political-historical views, I have to agree with Noam Chomsky's theory of Libertarian-Socialism (or Anarcho-Syndicalsim). He is correct in saying that standard American Libertarianism is perverted in that in eschews public centralization of power, but abides private centralization of power in the free market free for all, where there are no boundaries to corporate power. People should be protected from both private and public centralization and abuse of power. I would add that Chomsky's lean to preferring public power is also prescient in that in a democratic system there is still some control over those institutions, while private power is limited to shareholder voting, assuming the corporation is publicly held, and even if it is this generally rests with wealthy individuals and institutional investors.

I also have to say I respect the basis for the growth of Chomsky's ideas, through his early participation in the Kibbutz movement in Israel. The Kibbutzim, until recently, have been an adventure in anarcho-socialism... and had been effective until Israel grew into a technological powerhouse.

So I can't get much more left, or much more libertarian on that scale. I am over by the Dalai Lama.
