Nothing to see here...just a bunch of state-funded news agencies avoiding covering this.
They are successful, too. Most people won't bother looking into it any further. I mean, they are busy voting!

Re: All Things Canada Eh
I think you'd win that bet. French language coverage of the arrest.
Machine translation of some relevant sections:
A 45-year-old woman claiming to be an "independent journalist" was arrested in Montreal Sunday evening during a pro-Palestine demonstration where she tried to make a splash by filming and insulting protesters.
"Two women were there and were trying to confront the protesters. Things got heated and the police had to intervene to separate them from the group. They were shouting insults and were very close to the protesters," Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), told [Le Journal de Montréal].
One of these disruptors is Heather Natasha Graham, better known as "NatashaMontreal." In a clip that went viral on social media Monday, she first hurls abuse at the pro-Palestinian protesters peacefully gathered at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica. Police officers repeatedly ask her to leave the event, but she refuses and continues her sad spectacle.
...
Heather Natasha Graham is now charged with assault and obstructing police officers. She was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Note that the forty-year-old pushed a police officer while filming him, before being pushed to the ground and handcuffed.
Ms. Graham claims online to be an "independent journalist," but she is not a member of the Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec (FPJQ) or the Association des journalistes indépendants du Québec. This Griffintown resident appears to be collaborating with a far-right media outlet, according to our observations .
She has also attended pro-Palestinian demonstrations several times in recent months. Each time, Heather Natasha Graham filmed herself provoking the protesters.
American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, followed by more than 4 million people on X, also commented on Graham's arrest.
"Canada is a ZOO controlled by globalists!" Mr. Jones wrote on his social media about the video, which has been viewed nearly 400,000 times on X.

Re: All Things Canada Eh
So you guys approve of the arrest? How about the assault?
Are people allowed to cover these protests? Or only if they are state-funded journalists with approved opinions?

Here is a bit of video coverage, if the previous report seems a bit one-sided to you.
That report comes from those who claim they are "journalists", but they are likely funded by the government who owns the enforcement we see in this video.

It's very safe to take the side of 'State Funded Media'. Just look to CBC for the officially accepted narrative. Or watch the video, and see if you think it's ok to protest, at a protest.Journalist Beaten & Arrested by Cops While Pierre Poilievre Proving Himself to be a Total Political Coward!

"So you guys" eh? There you go, telling people what they really think again. Do you think that laws and the constitution should be applied differently or ignored completely according to what somebody thinks of someone else's character? What if their eyes are too close together?Cunt wrote:So you guys approve of the arrest? How about the assault?

Re: All Things Canada Eh
I was asking if anyone in the group 'you guys' approved of either.
I still don't know if you do. I'll answer you though. Human rights should apply to all humans. Laws should be enforced non politically.
I'm not telling anyone, I'm asking.

I find it easy to dismiss such biased reporting as soon as I see that slant to it. I did hear a Canadian go over the event with one of the reporters, and thought 'you guys' might change your mind with another source of info.

put independant journalist in scare quotes. Does that suggest anything other than bias in the writing?French language coverage of the arrest. Machine translation of some relevant sections

Re: All Things Canada Eh
I watched the video, certainly. The report from Le Journal de Montréal is accurate. Heather Graham did push the cop which, as cops will do, he used as a reason to take her into custody.
He wasn't particularly aggressive about it (I've seen far worse behavior by police in identical circumstances) but she chose to put up a fight. That meant that things didn't go so smoothly for her. While I commend the spirit of resistance to police, I can't say I found her decision in that circumstance particularly wise, unless her intention was to garner clicks and sympathy from the Rebel News audience.

lol
Can you say why the author added the "scare quotes" to his writing when he referred to her as an "independent journalist"?
I think it outs the author as having as much "fairness and bias" as you have about Trump.
Re: All Things Canada Eh
During the trucker protest in Canada, enforcement officers shot an "independent reporter". Does anyone think that was a 'good shoot' by the cop?
