Cold. By Australian standards, anyway. But not as cold as Glenn Innes (in the hills a bit south of me). It's currently about -4 there with a 'feels like' of - 8 . Ridiculously cold place.

Melbourne men fined after getting bogged

Two Melbourne men have been fined more than $1,000 each after they allegedly told border police they would return to Victoria, but then got their van stuck in mud while trying to enter SA by a different route 12 hours later.

SA Police said the 23-year-old man and the 18-year-old man were stopped at the checkpoint on the Dukes Highway at Bordertown, about 4:00am on Thursday, and were deemed to be non-essential travellers.

Police allege the men were advised they could either return to Victoria or enter South Australia where they would have to self-isolate for 14 days — and they opted to return to the eastern state.

However, Bordertown police found the same van with the same two occupants in it, 12 hours later, bogged on a dirt road near Pinehill Road at Senior in SA.
