You sure do hate CNN, but libeling them doesn't change the accuracy of their reporting, which you clearly can't dispute. The Lincoln Country Commissioners called the outcry racist, so racist it is until you can prove otherwise by using facts. Spare me the ad hominem squealing.

Nobody was mentioned championing an exemption for other folks either. Haters were hating, pure and simple.

Now let's cut to the chase shall we? I'm a white man of a certain age and I grew up in Texas and Arkansas and saw the hate against African American and Chicano people up close and personal and I can tell you something you should really consider.

The bottom line isn't what you say, it's where you stand, and there is no middle ground. If you aren't against the racists, no matter how noble you think your reasons are, you're enabling them and folks will call you a racist.

The same goes for re-posting mockery of a trans-person. People will see that as endorsing transphobia, and will call you on that too.

It sucks, but that's life.

Finally, "granting and removing rights based on race" is crazy, but that's not what those Commissioners thought they were doing. Here's what they had to say:

We included the last protection for those within our communities of color who historically, and often personally, found themselves the victims of harassment and violence. After last month’s protests, the national attention given to issues of racism, police tactics and inequity, we felt this last exception would be embraced and understood as a small effort to start addressing the realities some of our neighbors deal with on a daily basis.

What's the situation in Florida, Lak? I see you are having an explosion of cases. Are you still in any sort of lockdown stage?

They just decided you can't drink in bars, but restaurants can still serve booze. Almost 9000 new cases yesterday, but deaths and hospitalizations haven't spiked. They are doing lots more testing, which has some effect, but they're still running at about 13% positive results. Who fucking knows? We'll never get out of here and back to Africa at this fucking rate.
