Ha ! I think you would find that the same bullets feel much the same, no matter who pulls the trigger.

With all your weapons bullshit, I thought you would know that.

But one practical difference would be that the feds would be higher quality and better trained, so if they shoot you, it's more likely to be your own fault. As is pretty clear in this case.

Jeez, how did they get the local judge to try that? It stinks of corruption or incredible bias. And blatant as fuck. There is clearly something wrong with the selection of judges in the states.

The guy should have tried his last case.

Bundys and other ranchers confused. They do not have the right to burn public land.
All applicants for grazing permits or leases must meet the qualifications for public land grazing privileges that are specified in the BLM’s grazing regulations.
GUBMENT can change rules as they own the land (the leases are not perpetual, they renew) :

Over time, there has been a gradual decrease in the amount of grazing that takes place on BLM-managed land (because of such factors as changes in land-use plans, wildlife habitat protection, and ranching business decisions), and that trend continues today. Grazing use on public lands has declined from 18.2 million AUMs in 1954 to 8.3 million AUMs in 2014 (a 54 percent decrease).

And he has !! But not for the reason of incompetence or bias.

Just to refresh the matter, this is the judge who sentenced the ranchers at the centre of this row to three months, and a year and a day respectively, for arson, when the statutory minimum is five years.

It turns out, according to what I read yesterday, that he sentenced the men, on the last day of his last case, the day before he retired.
It's like raiding the shelves, on your last day as a security guard.
What a twat.

Anyway, it's been overturned, and they got the full five years. Now they're begging Obama (THE HEAD OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT !!) for a pardon when he leaves office.
Good luck with that. :funny:

Now coming into season where birders bring tourist money to Eastern Oregon area around refuge
Extra security and law enforcement was also brought in for the town. Originally, Harney county judge Steve Grasty estimated that security and closed schools and offices came to $70,0000 per day — almost $500,000 per week. Oregon Governor Kate Brown has a more conservative estimate for just law enforcement, but says that costs are still $100,000 per week to local and state agencies, bringing the total to over $400,000.
In addition to the security costs, there’s the cost of the Bureau of Land Management office, which remains closed, with its employees on paid leave. That means the government is shelling out $117,000 per week for no return in labor. Excluding federal holidays, the total in lost government work thus far is up to $491,400.
Finally, there’s the issue of lost tourism. Contrary to the ranchers’ claims, federal lands can be a huge economic boon to local communities. The Malheur Wildlife Refuge is a huge draw for recreational visitors, who spend $15 million a year in the local community. Averaged evenly, that’s $40,000 per day, though the exact number will shift season to season and be lower in the winter; the real risk is if the occupation stretches into the spring or recovery from it continues to impede preserve.
Malheur is especially popular with birders. Throughout the winter, the refuge is a concentration point for many species of raptors. Migrations are a huge draw — and in February, ducks, geese, swans, and sandhill cranes begin to arrive, and the birders with them.

Why is this woman still with him?
SEAN AND SANDY ANDERSON
The husband and wife moved from the town of Janesville, Wisconsin, within the last several years to Riggins, Idaho, where Sean, 47, opened a store for hunting, tactical and survival gear. Sandy, 48, worked at a gas station.

Sean Anderson is facing misdemeanor charges in Wisconsin for resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC, the intoxicating chemical in marijuana.

He also has pleaded guilty to a series of misdemeanors in recent years: domestic abuse in December 2010, disorderly conduct in 2008, criminal trespass in a dwelling in 2002, and disorderly conduct in 1999.

A friend of the couple, Lindsey Dipo, told the Lewiston Tribune newspaper that the couple recorded their will on Dipo's cellphone before departing for Oregon.

That's an interesting point.
Is a will on a cellphone a legal document? I doubt it.
But then, I doubt if this guy has much to bequeath anyway.

Remaining hillbillies to be charged. They cannot be "pardoned" anymore before actually being charged.
PORTLAND, Ore. — The four remaining occupiers at an Oregon wildlife refuge are facing charges, according to court documents released Thursday that say more than a dozen armed activists threatened violence against federal authorities and used social media to urge others to join them.

A newly unsealed indictment names 16 defendants, including the holdouts, standoff leader Ammon Bundy and other occupiers arrested last week. Also named is Kenneth Medenbach, who was arrested after being caught driving a government vehicle to a supermarket.

Heroic idiots are calling for a movement, a REVOLUTION!

Fry said Wednesday in an interview with the online radio station The Watchman News that he wants to "get the feds off our butt" and called on the American people to "rise up" and join the protest.

"We are going to be outgunned," he said. "If they (the FBI) want to turn it into another Tiananmen Square, then they can.
There are going to be consequences. I doubt that, I know they are smart enough not to do that, but right now just we just need the American people to rise up in numbers."

Fry said he believed the holdouts would soon be down to one cell phone, provided by the FBI.

"One of the FBI guys put a cell phone, one of the FBI cell phones, in a car up here that I picked up," Fry said. "They're going to cut off all our personal cell phones soon."

God busy blessing gun enthusiasts:
"God bless the ranchers," Steve Walker, 53, shouted from about 20 feet up the tree as he hammered in the bottom nail. People cheered. Walker, a local woodcutter, kissed the cross, slid down the tree and fell backward into the snow.

"I put it up there to give them a little more to work for," he said
