Just drove past Pearce RAAF Base. There is a serious media encampment just inside the front gate. Vans, tents, trailers, sat dishes. The jurnos are having a field day!

I don't know what their signal is, but it's starting to look like it's just a ping of a simple frequency.
If that's true it's also amazing, as it can obviously be imitated by anything that happens to make a noise on that frequency, like a whale, or something.

If it pinged a definite signal sequence of mini-pings, you could say for sure that you'd heard it, but just a simple ping would be prone to false positives.
