To answer one last question though, CH isn't deliberately persuing this subject in a piss poor attempt at trolling me across the forum and wherever I post, so I have not put him on ignore, yet. Of course if he insists on deliberately trying to provoke arguments, long after they should of died and starts saying such monumentally stupid things like the French are not a race. Granted I did challenge CES on his overt racism and nationalist leanings, but this has just descended into pointless trolling now. I'll have to assume he's just being deliberately trollish, because no one in their right mind would try to justify that (although I have to assume through ignorance that Seth actualy believes the French are not a race, I guess the English aren't either nor the Germans). It's what the word means especially when there's some sort of pronoun or sl article in front of it, when its talking about the language then it is usually clear from context. CES has clearly been talking about the entire nation, so he is talking about the French as a whole who are apparently all cowards, because of one man's actions in 1940. This I think is infantile, and smacks of racism. Denegrating a race falsely is not anything to be proud of, and it certainly isn't humour any more, it is evidence of something far more seedy than that, and it's more than clear some Americans really hate the French and are keeping bullshit alive to fuel that hatred. Sure most American humour about other races is pretty light on fact and often just involves sending up rather ancient stereotypes, but they are seldom outright lies dressed up with a thin veneer of "humour". Not all Americans are completely ignorant of what other people are like though I hasten to add, it's just some people seem to want to continue thinking the English all talk like Cokernies or lords or whatever passes for humour (at least though that cliché has the benefit of reflecting a tiny percentage of the English) it does at least have some facts going for it. I then is not really offensive as such. What makes me laugh is that if I went round saying all Jews were cowards or all Jews are stupid these same chancers would accuse me of being racist. But its ok for them to do it, because that's not racist. Demeaning an entire race with libellous nonsense for 60 years is not racist. Yeah got it, fucking is from where everyone else is standing.
