Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I would have said one century...

Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Nah, I just like reminding you who the 'experts' are, and why people find appeal to authority especially laughable now, around this subject.
Fat, indolent, self-preserving liars, who use their authority to forward personal agendas that, they assure you, are in your best interest.
Speaking of which, didn't Fauci admit they lied about the utility of masks, in order to help some people, at the expense of the victims of his deception?
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Funny. The only one I see appealing to authority on this forum is a guy when talking about podcasts by scientists.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The ones you can't listen to?
Yeah, not so much an appeal to authority there, just pointing out that some of the brightest minds in academia disagree with the current religious orthodoxy around subjects like critical theory.
Or the coronavirus crisis. I found Weinsteins grad work as a bat researcher relevant, and he seemed knowledgeable and experienced.
Of course, if you want to oppose me on whether he is a scientist, he fucking is, and you will have trouble convincing me otherwise.
If you want to convince me that he was wrong about some thing he said, you have a better chance, but it looks like listening to him would somehow conflict with your orthodoxy. I'm not surprised, considering what happened to him and his wife at Evergreen. Even if you agreed with everything he said, you couldn't say so publicly without risking the condemnation of the pious.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Even if I only said his name out loud, they'd come and put me in a re-education camp.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I get it. At Ratz I wouldn't dare try to discuss some of the thornier issues they discuss. 'Australian rules' discussion, you know.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The other day, on a JRE podcast, Rogan mentioned his curiosity about highly-fit people and covid19. Anecdotes aren't very large evidence, but this isn't a scientific article.

So a touch of science, via prophylactic measures.“Fortunately, none of my patients were affected, which speaks to why dental practices are considered quite safe with the infection control measures we already have in place.” Later, he learned 32 people who attended the conference were directly infected, and 81 people indirectly.
When I wish you guys improved cardio, it's because it's easy to fall for the 'healthy and fit means healthy and fit' meme.If there was a silver lining for Seddon, it was that his symptoms were mild, and that he didn’t require hospitalization. He credits being healthy and active before COVID-19 and throughout his recovery as the reason for his well-being. “I was running a few times a week. Once quarantined, I was doing group exercises on Zoom with our friends, circuit training workouts with my wife, and hopping on my bike on my patio, which is hooked up to my trainer.”

From the start of this bizarre and unprecedented footy season, the AFL said it would need to be agile and flexible as it navigated uncharted waters and attempted to complete a meaningful premiership season.
This was never more evident than Saturday when Essendon defender Conor McKenna became the first AFL player to test positive test to COIVD-19.
But footy's reboot has proven the fans will need to be equally adaptable to the fast-changing landscape, with on-field performances set to wildly fluctuate from one week to the next and supporters set for a roller coaster season of highs and lows.
The Lions' coach Chris Fagan dubbed it the Magical Mystery Tour and the past two rounds have shown that footy has never been more mysterious or unpredictable.
Round three started with Hawthorn's shock 32-point win over the reigning premier Richmond.
The Hawks, embarrassed by Geelong the week before and dismissed by experts as being too old, produced an ageless performance.

What if you say his name in front of a mirror in a dark room at midnight?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
