At least it is less transmissible during the race riots. Good thing, or otherwise the poor and disaffected would be protesting their own lives and health.

No no, science is exact about stuff like that, but then they can't tell if fats are bad for you for about 50 years. It was a guy that rigged his data.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Not only are black and minority ethnic groups significantly over represented in the Covid-19 death figures they're also the ones hit hardest economically by the lockdown measures, and then they have to witness a man being publicly lynched by those who represent and embody the authority of the state and the law. In that context the demonstrators have made a decision which puts them at risk in order to declare their displeasure at and opposition to what’s happening in their country and their communities.

A general description of how vaccines are made.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/how-fluvaccine-made.htm
The purification is a bit more complicated. You obviously don't want anything from the animal cells ending up in the vaccine, only virus bits.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
It's actually a neat piece of labwork, which could be done by hand. The viruses are human flu viruses, yet the reproduce in egg cells.
https://www.virology.ws/2009/12/10/infl ... h-in-eggs/
The allantoic fluid collects in a memrane protected sack. It is not the egg white.
Vaccines from chicken eggs contain egg protein, a nutrient.

Yes, and government officials wear an African shawl, and re-enact the kneeling part, while trying to mainly keep a straight face.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:28 amNot only are black and minority ethnic groups significantly over represented in the Covid-19 death figures they're also the ones hit hardest economically by the lockdown measures, and then they have to witness a man being publicly lynched by those who represent and embody the authority of the state and the law. It's no wonder they are losing their grip on some of these communities.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
UK has the second highest deaths per million after Belgium, and now the OECD says that the UK economy is going to be hit hardest of all developed nations.
No shit Sherlock - and the unemployment queue is getting longer by the minute.Britain’s economy is likely to suffer the worst damage from the Covid-19 crisis of any country in the developed world, according to a report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
A slump in the UK’s national income of 11.5% during 2020 will outstrip the falls in France, Italy, Spain and Germany, the Paris-based thinktank said.
Germany’s decline in national income (GDP) will be 6.6% this year while Spain’s GDP will fall by 11.1%, Italy’s by 11.3 and France’s by 11.4%.
Highlighting the task awaiting the UK government as it seeks to ease the lockdown, the OECD ruled out a V-shaped recovery for the global economy, saying the path back to previous levels of activity would be hampered by long-lasting effects of the pandemic.
The forecast of an 11.5% drop in GDP this year is an improvement on the 14% fall in national income put forward last month as a likely “scenario” by the Bank of England, but will add to pressure on the government after the OECD found that even countries that have come under severe criticism for their handling of the pandemic will fare better than the UK.
Brazil, the US and Sweden were on course for contractions in GDP of 7.4% or less, the OECD said, while China was likely to drop by 2.6% and Russia by 8%.
Defining the global situation as “dire”, the OECD said increases in government debt and the level of outstanding loans of private firms and banks would accompany the downturn, which would average 6% across the world.

Well, at least everyone agreed that 'flatten the curve' was important. Of course that was before the murder hornets...and the autonomous region in Seattle...

They don't think he got it from the protest. He tested positive the day after it.
