A lot of people believe this myth for some reason, but he was definitely right-handed.pErvin wrote:There's no point, Lemmy. He's off in a fantasy land. I read a post on the last page where he thinks Hitler was a lefty.
Only a clown with a completely distorted view of reality would think that I said anything of the kind.L'Emmerdeur wrote:Seth wrote:Actually, the KKK is the child of Democrats, so yes, they are leftist scumbags.Brian Peacock wrote:They're hiding their faces, so they must be leftist scumbags.Only a clown with a completely distorted view of the history of the US would imply that the Democratic party of the United States always and everywhere equaled "leftist." Pathetic
That's because Hitler was a lefty. He used the "National Socialist German Workers' Party" as his vehicle for his megalomania and despotism in much the same way as Stalin used Marxism. Neither Stalin nor Hitler can be be characterized as "right-wing" anything. They were both liberal fascists in the extreme.pErvin wrote:There's no point, Lemmy. He's off in a fantasy land. Brian Peacock wrote:Which Democrats gave birth to the Klan. Who, when, where, what, how?
Founded in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for blacks. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal–the reestablishment of white supremacy–fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. The civil rights movement of the 1960s also saw a surge of Ku Klux Klan activity, including bombings of black schools and churches and violence against black and white activists in the South.Source: http://www.history.com/topics/ku-klux-klan
Nope. Plain old non-leftist history.Brian Peacock wrote:That's the sound of straws being grasped at there.
Totalitarianism is not the sole province of the left, but the left is just as prone to use fascism to achieve its goals as the right is, which is my point. Liberal fascism is a real thing, it's not, as liberals would wish, something that only obtains to the political right.Brian Peacock wrote:I guess if you think totalitarianism is the preserve of leftists or emblematic of leftism, and only leftism, then all totalitarian regimes are leftist by definition? Eh?
The thing about being a "student of political theory" is that most students of anything today are almost exclusively subject to Marxist propaganda and indoctrination, and of course Marxists would deny that leftist "authoritarianism" doesn't exist.Brian Peacock wrote:No, you've got that wrong Jim. Authoritarianism is leftist by definition. Admittedly it's not my definition, or any considered definition of a student of political theory, but that doesn't stop it being defined as such - no sirree.
