Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
The Founding Fathers made the news SO MANY times under Trump.
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/03/opin ... power.html
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/03/opin ... power.html
"The antifederalist opponents of the Constitution worried that the office of the presidency was too powerful."
"The antifederalists were certain that at some point a man of low character would take office and twist the government to his own narrow ends. “He will spare no artifice, no address and no exertions to increase the powers and importance of it,” argued The Federal Farmer. “The servile supporters of his wishes will be placed in all offices, and tools constantly employed to aid his views and sound his praise.”
"The antifederalists especially feared that the president would use his pardon power to corrupt the nation. “The unrestrained power of granting pardons,” Cato wrote in November 1787, “may be used to screen from punishment those whom he had secretly instigated to commit the crime, and thereby prevent a discovery of his own guilt.”
"The president’s corruption does not end there. It extends beyond payola to include flagrant abuse of his constitutional authority. Specifically, Trump has weaponized the pardon as a tool of executive lawbreaking and misconduct."
Bouie cites some questionable pardons previous Presidents -- Bill Clinton pardoning his brother, Joe Biden pardoning his son.
"And yet they pale in comparison with the growing number of outrageous pardons issued by Trump, beginning with his blanket pardon of the rioters involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, along with a pardon for the former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and a commutation for Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers.
"This is the exact kind of pardon the antifederalists feared would happen under a tyrannical executive. The rioters, working on behalf of Trump, tried to overthrow constitutional government in the United States. And Trump, with gratitude, has freed them to try again."
"At its best, the presidential pardon has been used to show mercy — leniency for Americans who might be unjustly imprisoned or received sentences that were not commensurate with their offense. Not so the Trump pardons, which seem to be connected to his interests (personal, political and pecuniary) in one way or another."
"The best defense against abuse of the pardon — the best defense against the kind of system-threatening corruption that we’ve seen under Trump — is just not to put men like Trump into office.
"Given the perennial problem of demagoguery in a democracy, this is much easier said than done."

So FIFA are giving football (the proper one) to Trump, along with a special peace prize.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
Trump is likely getting for his Alzheimer's. It comes from transgender mice!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lecanemab
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lecanemab
Google AI tells me this much:
Monoclonal antibody (mAb) transgenic mice are genetically engineered mice that carry human antibody genes, allowing them to produce fully human antibodies instead of mouse ones, solving the problem of human immune rejection. These mice are vital for developing therapeutic mAbs by mimicking the human immune system, generating diverse, high-affinity antibodies against specific targets, with many resulting drugs now in clinical use. This platform leverages the mouse's immune response but directs it to create human-like antibodies, a significant advance over traditional methods.

Inaugural. Probably created for the sole purpose of sucking up to Trump.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
Garbage immigrants
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/ ... sm/685129/"During a White House meeting on Tuesday, surrounded by his Cabinet, President Donald Trump referred to Somali immigrants as “garbage” and said, “We don’t want them in our country.” No one in Trump’s Cabinet stood up to this expression of gutter racism, although Vice President J. D. Vance enthusiastically banged on the table. The president’s remarks were ostensibly in response to real events—in Minnesota, dozens of members of the Somali diaspora have been implicated in fraud related to social services—but the community does not bear responsibility for the actions of those individuals."
"The next day, at an Oval Office event, Trump again disparaged Somalis, claiming that Somali immigrants have “destroyed our country” and that the Somali American congresswoman Ilhan Omar “should be thrown the hell out of our country.” None of the people around him had the courage to ask whom “our” referred to. Given the president’s plunging approval ratings, one wonders whether these slurs are yet another attempt to shore up his support through appeals to racism."
"After the horrendous shooting of two members of the National Guard by an Afghan immigrant last week, Trump declared on Thanksgiving Day his intention to halt immigration from “Third World” countries, a neuron-thin euphemism for nonwhite immigrants. His remarks about Somalis being “garbage” are consistent with his referring to African nations and Haiti as “shithole” countries in his first term. Trump also announced an intention to strip U.S. citizenship from “migrants who undermine domestic tranquility,” and to “deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization”—arbitrary, subjective criteria that could serve as pretext for denaturalizing anyone for any reason."
"That a crime by an Afghan former CIA recruit or Somali fraudsters can be laid at the feet of all “Third World” immigrants shows how arbitrarily such lines are drawn. What matters is not what individuals do, but who they are, and whether or not they fit Trump and Miller’s narrow, racially defined view of who Americans can be. Whatever individualism used to mean to American conservatives, their movement is now led by adherents of the most foul collectivism humanity has ever known."
"There is a difference between inheritance and action. I cannot help who my ancestors are, but I can make my own choices. That so many Americans chose to place in power a man who holds people in contempt on the basis of race, religion, and national origin; that so much of the mainstream media conveys this bigotry through tired, obfuscating euphemisms; that there is so low a political price for the president’s racism that he and those around him see little risk in its expression—well, that does say something about America, and Americans. Immigration isn’t breaking our society. That’s a job Americans can do on their own."

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
It's all an act, shame it has real consequences, otherwise we might just point and laugh at the bad actors and their racist play. The fraudster is concerned about fraud, what an act, the nominal Christian is concerned about the Muslim, what an act, the dandy about a wage earner, what an act, a suburban hillbilly about a slumdog, what an act, everybody's acting, what a disaster.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
I guess you could say the hatred is the only authentic thing about him. But he's still portraying another person (eg he's a fraudster so it's an act to carry on about the problem of fraud). They're all acting, all the time. Genuine people don't carry on like this, especially when facing such an enormous responsibility...

Genuine people. Not a category Trump and his cabinet can be counted in. They are all more like Musk.

Trump Melts Down at Kaitlin Collins Over Rising Ballroom Cost
https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-mel ... lroom-costDonald Trump woke up early Saturday to lash out at CNN host Kaitlan Collins for pointing out the rising cost of his ever-growing new ballroom.
“Caitlin Collin’s of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more money than originally thought one year ago,” he began his misspelled rant on Truth Social Saturday morning.
Collins reported from the White House on The Source soon before Trump’s post, pointing out a crane undertaking construction on the ballroom and stating that costs had “ballooned.”
Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
Man, there's the pot calling the kettle black. At least Collins isn't fat and ugly.
