I'm reading a Third Reich book. It tries to explain national socialist. The national we get, racist one people. But the socialist also referred to Volk in Hitler's mind. The people were the workers. The regular people, not the elites, would be in positions of power. Exactly the MAGA idea.

I don't know if the NSDAP really had any intent of putting the German Volk in power within the Party and State structures, I'm not sure it really ended up that way, even if the elites it promoted were not the traditional ones.

Now whatever the little people get told or want to believe, MAGA has a strict intention of keeping the fat cats in power, even if it will let the hoi polloi do 'symbolic' stuff to make them believe they are somewhat in control

The UK Independence Party, which Nigel Farage abandoned after the Brexit referendum to form the Brexit Party (which Farage abandoned after the UK withdrew from the European Union to form Reform), is going from strength to strength - according to them anyway - as a hard-line Christofascist project. So, of course, they need a rebrand. Here's the new logo they've submitted to the electoral commission...

There's something slightly disconcerting about that emblem, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

uh, what, a cross pattée with a circle around the center AND a spear crossing the "shield" diagonally?
is it just me or is that symbol strongly reminding of Germany and certain far right tendencies?
my, that right is so new you want to ask your granddad about it.

Reform is the bigger problem at the moment.

With regard to the Iron Cross as a symbol. It is not specifically tied to Nazism. It has been used by the German military before and is still being used by the current German military.

The new UKIP logo is a clear connection to radical Christianity. A nod to the Crusades etc. It has for example been used by Dollfuß' Austrian fascists who combined fascist ideology with Catholicism. Breivik has used it on the front page of his "manifest".

Man, I thought that was a parody when I saw it on Facebook earlier. These people aren't in hiding anymore. See Kristy Noem and the fascist slogan on her podium. "One of ours, all of yours".

As a German you see that cross as an EisenKreuz? I thought the Iron Cross was a thick Greek cross with a thinner border around it? I mean, like the one you see on tanks... except on checking, modern Leopard 2 tanks do display a pattée version of the cross I know, duh.
Also, if you mean the cross used by Dollfuss' Fatherland Front, it's not a cross I'd identify with the Iron Cross, or even with a cross Pattée, it's a variant of the Jerusalem Cross

and it's still weird to see a bunch of milquetoast protestants use crusader (more specifically the Teutonic order, hence my reference to Germany) linked imagery

You should know that fascists have no humor, they don't do parody, and don't even recognize it.

Those symbols are just variations of the same thing.
