That would be nice, but the American public (enough of them, anyway) appear to find that acceptable.

What he's referring to is free and fair elections. Doesn't like them. Horrible things happen, like him not winning. It isn't just his hand-picked pliant toadies that are 'working on it.' The whole Republican Party along with their supermajority on the US Supreme court are busy ripping democracy down in the US. So it goes.
