I'm kind of wondering if he's the primary developer, or just the one that CBS managed to get hold of. If he's the primary developer, it seems like they ought to make him pay his taxes first, at least.

He was a waiter just 5 years ago. What has he been doing the past 5 years? That's pretty good going from waiter to muliti million dollar developer in 5 yrs. Talk about "land of opportunity". :ask: :ask:
When Pelley asked if it occurred to him that putting a project so close to Ground Zero would heighten tensions, El-Gamal replied “not at all.”

“I did not hold myself or my faith accountable for the tragedy,” El-Gamal said.
Well, he's certainly a very sensitive person to say the least.

Also, how is this going to be a community center for everyone in the community when they don't even like to mingle with other people that are not muslim in the first place. I think what they mean is that everyone is welcome to participate in this community mosque if they become a muslim first.
I don't see it happening any other way.

what's the source of funding for this project and I want to know why it was named CORDOBA HOUSE. Cordoba Spain was conquered by the Muslims and ruled over for 700 years. During this time period, the original inhabitants, the Christians and the Jews, became SECOND CLASS citizens with very limited rights. WHY did the Imam or some other non-disclosed source use the name CORDOBA? Why locate this mosque near Ground Zero when there are plenty of other sites available and there are already 16 Mosques in NY City? WHY? In addition, this Imam keeps talking about "the need to embrace the religious and political freedoms in the United States". Why does this have to do with the fact that his own religion has cold-blooded terrorists in it and the Sharia severly limits the religious and political freedoms in their OWN religion? Why religious & political freedoms did the women who have been stoned to death or mutilated have? Muslims constitute the world's largest group of weak, forked tongued, and hypocritical people.

hey kiki, who said that?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The ‘Cordoba Initiative’ has announced plans to build a $100-million plus mosque overlooking Ground Zero at the World Trade Center. Its leader, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, says it “will serve as the platform to launch a broader vision of Muslim-West harmony and interdependence.” As he has made clear, Rauf supports supplementing our Constitution by making sharia law optional — optional at least for now — for Muslims living here in America. Debra Burlingame and Robert Spencer discussed this last night on-air with Sean Hannity:

This video is a bit sensational but it has some interesting facts in it regarding how muslims claimed their victory by building mosques in a place where it would be an impression for years to come as a reminder of their victory in that area.

Trump offers 25% profit to mosque developers to sell the buildings to Trump. 25% over the recent purchase price! Not bad...http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local-be ... nbc=?!2345

Not sure why they won't take it... The extra 25% should let them find another location easily. Of course, if their agenda involves a need to put the mosque in that particular spot, well....
