"The consolidation of MOHELA's FFELP loans harms the entity by depriving it of the ongoing interest payments that those loans generate."

In response to the lawsuit, Persis Yu, of the Student Borrower Protection Center, says, "FFEL lenders have shown their true colors. Instead of working in the interest of student loan borrowers – their customers – these lenders are holding hostage relief to millions of borrowers in order to keep making a buck off of borrowers suffering."

Corporations have a primary obligation by law to 'maximise shareholder value'. You will hear 'authorities' claim otherwise, but the courts have made it clear. While Persis Yu is correct regarding the true colors of the banks, no corporation works in the interest of their customers. The US government's lawyers know that the Biden executive order as originally written wouldn't stand up in court. I think if Biden wants to get the banks off the backs of the people affected by this, he will have to make the banks whole--not only cover the student debt, but also cover the interest the banks would have got from the 'customers.'

President Joe Biden spoke about the September jobs report praised by leading economists Friday afternoon, and took a few moments to criticize the “socialist Republicans” who publicly voted against the critical infrastructure legislation that is an important part of his economic agenda, while privately begging him for funding for their districts.

“There’s a report, you guys can, as they say, as my grandkids say, ‘Google it,’ but a report that came out on CNN that says, ‘Republicans called Biden infrastructure program socialist.’ Then they asked for the money,” the President said mockingly.

“He’s written three separate letters to the administration, asking for projects in his district,” Biden said, appearing to read from the CNN report. “He says they enhance the quality of life and ease congestion, boost the economy.”

Biden. leaning into the microphone, told supporters, “Voted against it, says it’s all socialism.”

“Go down the list. Kentucky Representative Andy Barr.”

Mocking the GOP lawmaker he mimicked him saying, “The biggest socialist agenda.”

“Three different projects he wants, citing the importance of safety and growth in his district.”

“Rand Paul,” President Biden continued. “I go down the list. Look it up,” he said waving the pages of the report.

“Socialist,’ he said mockingly.

“I didn’t know there were that many socialist Republicans,” Biden deadpanned.

I hope Biden - and all other Democrats - keep trolling the "anti-socialist" Republican fuckers. Though rusted-on Trumpers will not change their deluded faith in the psychopath, ridicule may be an effective tool to wean others off their delusions.

Trump News/Fox report on millions of illegals coming in under Biden. Then they tack on this bit, forgetting that all the fentanyl was confiscated from Americans, not Mexican cartels: (numbers do not add up)
Under Trump, Border Patrol’s fentanyl seizures for FY 2019 and ’20 (through August 31) totaled 7,595 pounds. Under Biden’s equivalent dates in FY ’21 and ’22: 24,062 pounds — up 217%.

Mexican cartels freely traverse the “border” to transport this venom. Biden Democrats couldn’t care less.
