The Coronavirus Thread
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
As far as we know the virus cannot survive outside host cells for very long. So, there is no problem with stuff that you buy from anywhere. Only close contact with other living beings can spread it, most likely only humans.

Exactly that is where the live wild animals being sold on the market along with food and everything else that is sold on a Chinese market plays an important role.NineBerry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:31 amAs far as we know the virus cannot survive outside host cells for very long. Very specific healing pool. No viruses healed.

Covid19 is only able to infect the sinful. You all are SO SCREWED.

Maybe a bit of paranoia is a good thing - it's old buggers like us who are doing most of the dying!Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:24 amThe same here. We have had flu throughout the winter but now all of a sudden people are getting paranoid.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 8:45 amI met someone yesterday who declined to shake my hand due to The Virus, but who happily stood close enough to inhale my damp breath as we casually chatted about it. I decided not to point that out to them - even though I do have a bit of a sore throat atm.

Not required Jim. We have a total of 58 cases mostly living at home. That is 58 in 17 million. You are hardly going to meet one.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Woods#TwitterIn September 2018, Twitter briefly blocked his account over a hoax meme he shared purporting to be from the Democratic Party telling men not to vote.
Woods has promoted conspiracy theories on Twitter; in 2017, he used the platform to echo claims that George Soros was behind a violent far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and in 2018 he suggested that a series of mail bombs sent to Trump critics was a staged "political stunt," although he later deleted that tweet.
Woods' Twitter account was suspended in mid-April 2019 after a tweet that was considered to threaten violence.
In February 2020, Woods spread a viral Twitter meme falsely asserting that under Bernie Sanders' proposed taxation plan anyone making over $29,000 per year would be taxed at a rate of 52%.
Classy!

I don't think he rates 'classy', but I won't disagree with you on this non-fitness subject. Your knowledge is too deep and important. Your intellect is likely only surpassed by your strength and v02max!Hermit wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:56 pmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Woods#TwitterIn September 2018, Twitter briefly blocked his account over a hoax meme he shared purporting to be from the Democratic Party telling men not to vote.

Though I stand by my original statement, that Woods is a lot classier than the scummy, disrespectful councilwoman he was responding to. She was expressing solidarity with a person pledging to spread disease deliberately.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Wilfully ignoring the joke presents an opportunity to post an expression of outrage concerning a political opponent without seeming to be irrational for a fraction of a second.
