Gee....a conversation where someone says something that conveys a fairly obvious point, the conservatives come in and say, "Oh, you must mean this...", but get it 100% wrong, and everyone gets fed up with trying to explain themselves (yet again) to conservatives who, it seems to me, just do not want to understand.

FYI, it's that way with conservatives in every single politics-current events forum I've participated in. That's what led me to start looking into the psychological differences between conservatives and liberals...I wanted to see just why the two don't even seem to be speaking the same language.

No, it's a problem with lefty-liberal cognition. When a conservative comes along and thoroughly debunks some asinine factoid spouted by some mindlessly ignorant Socialist nitwit, the aforesaid nitwit, and all his/her fellow nitwits, are simply incapable of admitting that their arguments are just so much propagandistic bilge and that they are just plain wrong. They can't face the truth, and instead insist on resorting to Alinsky-style ad homs and other forms of diversionary tactics to divert the discussion away from the obvious fact that their arguments, and rebuttals, haven't a shred of logic or truth in them and consist entirely of propaganda from the Left that they have been well indoctrinated in.

You want to explore the issue, I suggest you start with "The Liberal Mind - The psychological causes of political madness" by Dr. Lyle Rossiter Jr.

It explains quite well why Liberals (collectivists, Marxists, Socialists and their ilk) are simply medically and legally insane, which explains a lot about why it's useless to try to change their minds. They are too deep in their psychopathology to be saved by anything but intensive psychotherapy or perhaps prefrontal lobotomy.
"Seth is Grandmaster Zen Troll who trains his victims to troll themselves every time they think of him" Robert_S

"All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke

"Those who support denying anyone the right to keep and bear arms for personal defense are fully complicit in every crime that might have been prevented had the victim been effectively armed." Seth

Mark Rubio, early contender for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination...
GQ: How old do you think the Earth is?

Marco Rubio: I’m not a scientist, man. I can tell you what recorded history says, I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think that’s a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. I think the age of the universe has zero to do with how our economy is going to grow. I’m not a scientist. I don’t think I’m qualified to answer a question like that. At the end of the day, I think there are multiple theories out there on how the universe was created and I think this is a country where people should have the opportunity to teach them all. I think parents should be able to teach their kids what their faith says, what science says. Whether the Earth was created in 7 days, or 7 actual eras, I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to answer that. It’s one of the great mysteries.
There's your Republican Party folks.

Gee....people getting excited to see the President of the United States...yet another totally new phenomenon since Obama took office.

Or maybe we should look for pics of conservatives getting excited to see Sarah Palin, that paragon of conservative intellectualism? :funny:
