What "standards" have I displayed?

I was the one that had to point out to you that all history that is derivative has to be taken with a large dose of skepticism. That includes both Stone's work, and your impressive catalogue of work somewhere, allegedly.

As far as I'm concerned, if you want to practise surgery, you need to study surgery, and pass your exams, and then be supervised till you are competent to do it.
History isn't surgery, but it's important. Historians follow a similar educational path to surgeons.
By all means, if you want, put your trust in a surgeon who just wants to have a go.

If this series is shit can you recommend something better? I know obviously the best way to learn is spending years studying, but I'm just not going to spend my time on that - it doesn't interest me enough. But I am just about prepared to spend a little time watching a few documentary series' and absorb some information while I eat my dinner - if you can suggest something that is accurate and reliable.

You can start with the BBC, they consistent do a betterish job than TV aimed the Merkin audience.
