One thing that Obama can claim, is that he oversaw the Bin Laden execution.
Bush oversaw the kicking of the US's fat arse, by Bin Laden. Obama oversaw the operation to take him out.

Neither really had much influence in the events, except that Obama had to take the final decision, but obviously based on the military advice he was given.
