Yeah, when I wrote that the only thing I knew about him was that he was described as a centrist by a number of media outlets. But since then I've heard what he stands for, and he's definitely a right winger in my opinion. Maybe he's only a centrist compared to the Pig Pen.Svartalf wrote:Not centrist, he's the far economically liberal right's fifth column... that guy is a banker and we know whom he really works for, ther stock market just when bullish with the news of his going to 2nd round.pErvin wrote:Centrist.. how boring...

I'll be deep in it regardless of which one wins, but I assume it will go even worse for me if she does... her mania to get out of the EU, and the euro, and to devaluate the franc is all too likely to turn me into even more of a pauper than I already am.
Not to mention her underwritten agenda, the one she won't admit to. I like blue shirts, but not as part of a uniform, and not as a replacement for brown.

It's funny to see how the far-right people in Germany who hate Merkel and Clinton, because they wear pantsuits, which is seemingly "not appropriate" for women, love Le Pen who has the same choice of clothes.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Good to hear the Frech do the right thing. After the recent idiocy of the UK and America I don't think I could handle another embarrassment of Western society.

My joy is somewhat subdued. The choice during elections used to be between various shades of social and conservative democracies. Now it is between various shades of conservative democracies and fascist populists. Yeah, thanks for small mercies (no pun intended). Instead of taking two steps back we have only taken one.Animavore wrote:Good to hear the Frech do the right thing. And worse is to come. Macaron is bound to fail. All advocates of the trickle-down hypothesis eventually do. Once the underlying doctrine of a laissez faire, global economy bites the plebs of a western style first world democracy in the bum, which it will with the certainty of sunrise, the only alternative will be to vote for a rabidly nationalistic, mercantilist leader because organisations that promote socialism have atrophied to the point of near extinction.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

Centrist in France, but as has already been explained to us Americans, compared to centrist in the US, he would be totalitarian communist. In the civilized world, things are shifted left, so center in the civilized world is actually radical leftism.JimC wrote:pErvin wrote:Centrist.. how boring...
