Rationalia is not social media.
It is anti-social media.
It is anti-social media.

Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!

What do you get when social media and anti-social media meet?

Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.

If the Bible is right Rationalia will explode again.

A lot of people like to visit Manhattan, with its night life, restaurant districts, museum and theater districts, sightseeing and history. Another good place to go is the Grand Canyon, which is breathtaking to visit. For fun trips of the more partying kind, folks like to travel to Las Vegas, which is filled with hotels, casinos, and theaters. In my state of Florida, we have among the nicest beaches in the world, auto races like the Daytona 500, more amusement parks than you can shake a stick at (including Disney World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, Sea World, and a host of others), and in Orlando, folks who like to shop really love the myriad of different shopping options there. Miami beach is a huge tourist attraction, with it's south beach, and its night life, and folks take the drive over the bridge across the Florida Keys to Key West, to see breathtaking sights and to experience the world of Key West.Scot Dutchy wrote:Well I dont so I would not be lying. BUT why in hell would I want to to America? Especially now.
Off the top of my head, you might want to visit Washington DC and Philadelphia with their monuments and history - particularly for history buffs and those who like photo-ops at various historical monuments. While in Washington DC, one can take the jaunt down to Monticello, or Gettysburg, or to Mt. Vernon and see some really cool stuff from the 18th and early-to-mid-19th centuries.
A lot of people like to go to Los Angeles, and see Hollywood, visit the sights there, and take a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. There is also San Diego and San Francisco which offer a lot for the tourist as well.
Back on the east coast, there is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which goes from Virginia up through the Carolinas in the Appalachian mountains which is beautiful. For the hikers and bikers, the Appalachian Trail offers unparalleled outdoor hiking opportunities.
In the middle of the country, there is a lot to see, too, as you can take a trip down the Mississippi River, which offers steamboat trips and other cruises, or you can go to places like Memphis Tennessee, home of Memphis blues, and lots of fun stuff. Or, go a little farther south to the Delta Blues country in Louisiana, where you can visit New Orleans, and get a taste of American Creole and Cajun culture, and old French America along the way.
You can always try to get out to Mt. Rushmore and see those great sculptures.
The hunter and the fisherman can find thousands of places to go throughout the US, from wild boar hunting in the south, to deer hunting in Michigan and Pennsylvania and across the entire northern half of the country. Moose and elk in Montana and Idaho and Washington and Oregon. Fishing throughout the thousands of lakes and along our thousands of miles of ocean.
Boating, fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, swimming/scuba/snorkeling and the like.
I mean, there is such a diversity of opportunity across the US, that if one were so inclined to travel, a unique visit for folks who are generally stuck in a small location, rarely venturing beyond their small state, one would find a lot of new and exciting places and experiences.
You'll find the people across the country to be welcoming, and the proprietors of hotels, restaurants and other facilities utilized by tourists to be extremely accommodating.

Fucking Yanks wanting legal immigrants and not people who shoot up gay nightclubs or go postal when invited to a Xmas party. You can talk Australia has the most draconian immigrant policy in the Western World.Hermit wrote:No need for that. We should be MOST skeptical of ideas we like because we are sufficiently skeptical of ideas that we don't like. Penn Jillette.

Re: Specify Rationalia Membership when entering US?
The US has a very open immigration policy. The US has welcomed about 1,000,000 new permanent residents and 1,000,000 new US Citizens annually. The US leads the world in legal immigration. The US also is the top refugee resettlement country, leading the world in accepting refugees. By far, the US has more immigrants living in it, in total, than any other country in the world.
Note, also the US only counts as "immigrants" those who are here permanently. Work visas, and those otherwise here temporarily, are called "nonimmigrants" and are not part of that 1,000,000 new permanent resident immigrants. There are 11-12 million nonimmigrant visas issued annually. And, that doesn't include the people entering legally without a visa from the 38 countries where a visa is not required to enter the US.
But we're a xenophobic country that hates immigrants.
