There is much to admire in the US's system of constitutional republicanism, but at its foundation it was a decidedly fudged attempt to both mitigate against and enshrine a form Monarchism, which was the prevailing political model and culture of the time. Other republican constitutional models exist of course. The Irish and Swiss for example both manage to operate constitutional republics which don't amount to electing an absolute monarch every four years. Britain, on the other hand, isn't a republic and doesn't have a constitution - at least not in the modern sense of the word.

For me it is Jim. I hate the place and avoid it at all cost but unfortunately for many tourists it represents the Netherlands.

Holland is the correct term.

It comes from the old phrase, "hole land" because the place has always been a fucking hole.

It's not a mistake. As Wikipedia points out:
