The title of the opinion piece is "Why you should stop waving the rainbow flag on Facebook", and nothing in the article can be interpreted as homophobic or hateful in or authored by a member of the left.

Have you actually read the article? Its author is a gay man with some psychological issues about people enjoying gay rights victories without having been martyred or oppressed in the process.
